Yes but when people complain about stuff like the self-healing (when already expressed that it was intentional) or that the game is "boring," it really doesn't help the Devs. At least, I don't see how it would.

I agree on the medic thing, but saying that the game is becoming boring (not that I agree) is at least some feedback.. If a lot of experienced players feel the same way about something then it may prompt a change in direction or some form of compensation (against whatever makes it that way) from the Dev's.

I don't think anyone's actually attacking the Dev's or the way the Mod has been created - The people with the loudest voices are the ones that appreciate the mod the most and want to make their opinion heard.

Obviously some people do have an axe to grind, but it's easy to see through that.

You will get bored of the game. You will get bored of COD, You will get bored of BF3. Its life.

I palyed 2 times in the last half a year or so, and both rounds were epic, although it was on.. Burning sands with only 12 peaple or so in the server, And noone on mumble, We had all the vheicals we needed on both teams, so we went as infantry, but we had CAS or Heavy tank support. It made it quite epic.

Why was the medic self-heal change not at the forefront of the update

Should probably re-read this statement again. Maybe it will answer your question.

Secondly, the removal of the medic-self healing isn't game breaking, that's why there's (Field Dressings), so everyone just stop complaining, and continue playing the game. Works out best this way.

I can't get back into PRBF2 after experiencing the improved physics of Bad company 2 and soon to be Battlefield 3 engine.

I am eagerly awaiting PR Arma 2, however i feel 128 player is what PRBF2 needs right now in order to keep interest along with some good mumble teamwork servers for a new lease of life.

Edit: Goddamn ninjas.

Because it was actually a bug that was left in as a feature because it once was supposed to be a feature anyway. Or something like that. They didn't know (or didn't want to tell us) about it.

Besides, I like the slowness of PR. Most games force you to constantly react to lots of stuff which is fun at first but gets old very fast and eventually you just wish there'd be more time for talking and exploring the game world. PR leaves you enough time to actually interact with the other players in ways other than slaughtering them on sight. Even killing the enemy feels much more rewarding if the fight was a long one (compared to most games, that is.)

And @128 players: Fun for a bit, but I actually enjoy 64 players more on anything but the largest maps.

Well which ones? I've been playing on *NwA* for some time - no teamplay (between the whole team). PRTA - same thing but this was really better than NwA. By teamplay I mean you always have someone above you, giving you orders (unless your a commander), not "Let's see, squad 7 is going to the cache from west so we will go from east", that's "teamplay" not teamplay actually. It's impossible to get it done without having a commander that is actually commanding, like it is almost every time on every server. Maybe someone (the best of the best commanders) could put up together a training event for commanders and share their knowledge. Because this mod has potential. I hope the upcoming one life event will be successful and bring the the reality of PR to the next level, cause I don't think that some stupid vanilla habits (lonewolfing snipers, lonewolfing cas, lonewolfing everything, shooting every enemy in the sight, going through the open terrain right next to possible enemy location, etc.) will pay off, you'll just die horribly and get kicked out of the game. That's the way I like it, and I hope that a large number of players will like this.

1. As I said tools how to affect the teamwork are in your hands, as you now referred "im not suitable as a commander" is just an excuse. It's in your hands how much teamwork there will be

2. By my experiences, NwA doesn't offer teamwork focused games, PRTA is pretty decent(since of the HAVE TO mumble) and Sisu is awesome, since everyone is in mumble as well. Pelitutka also offers nice teamwork.

It's all about leadership. PR has growingly demanded more on the leadership. And I can't see PR:ArmA2 being any different, maybe even more demanding. It was always the plan to give more control to the player. Not much is given for free, you have to go after it.

When you do that, and the players don't follow, you are gonna have crappy rounds.

So having friends playing together is fun and can help, but if you don't have the strong leadership the game requires, it's not gonna help much. Last night I formed a squad where I only knew by name one person, and we don't usually play together that much for what is worth. But they were listening and following me, those are the only two things I ask from my squad members. So we had a good game, some failures, but mostly good stuff (video here).

I know that I can create most of my fun, and having more squads to work with is added bonus.

Of course, sometimes the enemy can be on the ball and you are caught off guard, and no matter what you do, you fail. That happens, in any game, so you have to learn to handle that and maybe take a break and come back later.

OP since this mod is a mod we've had dozens and dozens of threads like this bubble up and the reactions have always been the same :

- No the mod isn't dying because the player population is still growing
- For one who finds it boring many more find it still lotsa fun

And please don't generalize your feeling to the whole game. Mods evolve but mostly players change a lot more in the same time interval.

So have fun discovering other games and other styles of play. But do know that PR will still be around for you to rediscover for a very long time.

Locked.
