Know the feeling. I cry when people complain about "low" fps of 40-35, that's what I have been getting on the high end, the low end is so low the fps gauge won't read out.

Playing with under 30 fps sometimes, like on Fallujah or Kokan

It's almost unplayable sometimes!

CPU: Phenom II X4 945 Quad Core 3.0 Ghz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 650
RAM: 8 GIG

Should it be lagging? definately not, but whatever.

Wow, people can't play on 30-40 fps? lol

Turn of anti-aliasing.

Problem is in cpu.

bf2 does not support multicore.

What happens if you put terrain on 'low'?
Did that today, felt better, but unsure...

Are any of you using NVidia cards and a G-Sync enabled monitor?

The reason I ask is that it sounds like the perfect technology for PR players. For instance, there will be times when it's running perfectly maxed out at 120 fps on 1080p. Then, it'll take a dive into the 30s-40s when the server is full and a lot of people are in the same area. I realize this game begs for a high speed CPU to keep the frame dips reasonable and that's where I think G-Sync comes in handy.

I just thought I'd ask. I'm waiting for the ASUS ROG Swift 144 hz 2560x1440 27" G-Sync monitorto be released next month. I didn't want to create a new thread. Posts of mine seem to disappear lately. Weird.

Comparing PR to modern games doesn't work because all of them have mutlicore support and are running on more sophisticated and optimized engines.
The reason you get bad FPS on PR on a good machine is because it does require a better CPU rather than a GPU but it can only use a single core of your CPU. I've experienced that myself, I had a PC with a bad CPU and a good GPU and could play on 15 FPS on all low settings and now I have a good CPU with a medium-low GPU an I can run PR smoothly on about 50 FPS on all high.

TBH, I can't really notice any difference unless the FPS falls under 20 so I don't know why you can't play on 30-45 FPS.

I've been using the same CPU since 2009 (Intel I7 - 920 2.67Ghz) and have never had a problem playing PR, or any of the modern shooters for that matter.

I don't think I've ever even unseated it or cleaned it. It's just rock n' roll.

Yeah, but you have an i7, that's why you don't have any problems :)

Yeah I use the i7 920 as well, but people with much better CPUs (i7 3xxx and 4xxx series) have major performance problems, so clearly there's something going on.

Hello after all day tests i found something like solution for me, atleast little bit slide different,
in Nvidia control panel there is option for nvidia physx configuration, and you can choose between 3 options
1- auto select
2- Gpu
3- CPU
after trying 3 of them for me best solution is CPU, after choosing the CPU option the laggy in urban maps reduced(my problem is for example when im in city like shija valley town ot mutrah i get some performance ussues or when i look at where most of the players are.) well is not fixed but i see some change in performance, you guys have better CPU than me, so you can try this and tell here what happen.
my rig:

intel pentium D 3Ghz cloked to 3.35 old, very old s*it
4GB ram
Nvidia gtx 260 Standard Memory Config
896MB
Memory Interface Width
448-bit

Also, in the Nvidia Control Panel, on "Texture Filtering - Quality" Select Maximum Performance, I recall that giving me a couple of extra FPS on my old PC.
