got laid off in august and i'm trying to put some shit in my portfolio some studios had mentioned to show off some more skills.

was told i need more hard surface stuff for characters... it's one thing to be able to make hard surface for props but organic things like a human are a lot harder

I was told i needed to tell a story with a prop. So this tells a simple story with a broken wall. Rather than just a simple wall with no damage you can imagine what this wall has been through.

Even though I personally know nothing about modeling. After checking your site out, maybe you should be the one to make new soldier models for PR :P , maybe an idea for the next upcoming project.

Maybe some cool epic kit geometries for some factions as well.

Just putting it out there :P

i find it confusing how your face looks so real but the armor so cartoony. what shader did u use for the render?

Lol Pock. Check your monitor settings. It's definitely not cartoony in the slightest. It's not confusing, i just think you don't understand the distinction between the materials.

Doesn't look cartooney to me at all. Looks great. Bit of a Crysis vibe to the armor IMO.
