if only there was someone that had a janes specifications magazine thingy, all disputes could be settled in second

anyway here are some sources on BMP-3 armor (who knows how accurate they are)
Front Armour
Gives protection from 30mm AP rounds of 2A42gun at a range of 300m at ?40?
Side Armour
Gives protection from 7.62mm AP bullets at point- blank range

Hull and turret of this infantry fighting vehicle are made of aluminum alloy armor. The front arc is made of composite armor and provides protection against 30-mm armor-piercing rounds. Protection can be further enhanced with add-on explosive reactive armor kit. Furthermore the Arena active protection and Shtora countermeasures systems can be installed.

There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.

40k is deep like that.

the plus/minus 40 degrees part is important, thats a huge lose of energy perpendicular to the armour itself.

Does that factor in the actual slope of the front itself, or assume enemies engaging at bad angles?

30mm AP is very weak, 30mm APFSDS is completely different story...

And I do agree that this is all pointless because the CV9035/40 is the king of IFV vs IFV combat, but sometimes you just need an ATGM.

Meh, 30 or 35mm is fine as is. In a perfect world, the CV90 would have a CTA40 gun but that seems to be stalled.

Still crying for nerf uber powerfull russian high-rpm cannons :)
With PRs view distance(Less that 1km) low powered AP rounds still effective, distance doesn't matter so much in PR,only firerate matters. When Bradley shoot 1 round,BMP got 3.
BMP IRL uses mixed links AP/APDS and HE-I/HE-FRAG.

Currently 30mm BMP cannon is most powerful in PR.Only 35-40mm cannon may be powerul even with smaller firerate.
25mm AP(FS)DS-T penetrate,because they have discarding sabot.
