Still trolling and mad that someone disagress with your opinion are we?

How about we start with the fact it's easily dominated by air? Easily rapable. Most of it requires you to be in a heavy asset (Attack helicopter, Tank, APC, IFV). There is little to do for the infantry other than sit in one spot all day crossing a football field to hang themselves.

Now tell me how that IS suited for tournament play.

I personally would rather not sit on a hill all day infantry or Armor & wait for the enemy air to come crack me open. It's not all that symmetrical or great of a map to begin with.


There are other maps which are "symmetrical" that are much more suited for organized play. Even if I don't agree with some of them.

I really, really fail to see how an armour based map is unsuitable for tournament play? Under what axiom is infantry as a center point necessary to be a good map? Then armour does the heavy lifting, I dont see any problem with making attacks on north or south vill with armour exclusively. Infantry skirmishes in the bunker, then holds them, that's fine. BOth south and north vill are not suited for attack with infantry, but there is no issue in that.

Other maps offer cover from the air such as trees, building, etc. Kashan is just all open desert with no real objectives other than leveling the whole village so you can fire HEAT rounds in.

The fact that infantry will get raped crossing in the open for one.

Silent eagle be it that I hate that map has more cover/countour to it than Kashan & even has air assets such as jets.

Since I rarely get to play a map with jets that's the only one I can think of. I have no problem with armor just with maps which are solely focused on taking a jet & killing everyone/thing due to bad map design.

Silent eagle is worse, draw distance and visibility are so low, you literally could never lock onto an enemy jet from the ground if he's going in for a bombing run, for all intents and purposes, the jets are invincible to SAMs.

I really have no problems with custom layers excluding air assets. What symmetrical infantry important maps exist that would be suitable? Marlin?

Marlins ok, but I prefer it on insurgency. On AAS it feels akward.

Shiljas a pretty good map albeit not symmetrical.

Shijia is certainly diverse, large, and detailed, probably a good choice. just give each side 2 AAVs, I suppose, once air superiority is established on either side, armour is in serious trouble, most flags on the map are quite open too.

True, but the contour can allow for evading of air assets & allows for concealment of not only vehicles but infantry. Which was my point with Kashan, as soon as the air knows where someone is in a map with 0 concealment you can basically kiss your *** good bye & say hello to the pearly gates.

Cant really hide from CAS on shijia, only salvation is in the short draw distance, it just works in the favour of armour.

Either way it allows the air to not completely dominate, if Kashan had more hills & varied terrain it'd be a decent map.

I don't see any reason why Kashan is not a good map to play. Air dominance is dependent on the best pilots and the best team effort. Setting up AA to protect your assets, spotting enemy jets, and the ability of your pilots will determine the outcome of that. It just shows which team has best coordination and skill.

I personally hate Kashan aswell - the map's just ugly ;)

Silent Eagle, Black Gold, Battle for Quingling, Yamalia would be great!
Or just run a mapvote and end up playing Muttrah.

Kashan is imo the best map for a battle like this. If youre crossing wide open spaces as infantry without any help you deserve to get raped. I dont know where you play Ice, but obviously it isnt a very good place. Its all about team effort on Kashan. When your team works together, infantry getting raped shouldnt happen(except inside the bunkers :P )

If you want a combined arms map that is also balanced, then your choices are few. Kashan is probably about as close as you get as its basically mirrored, flags and assets.
