The more the merrier. I remember trying out once a 128 player server, and it was by far one of the most coolest experiences I've had. Forces people to use more teamwork since you alone with your rifle are not able to cause noticeable damage to the other team.

The nametags should stay at least within squads, personally I like to know who I am playing with. It would be too much of an hassle to each time introduce yourself - but this is just my opinion.

Can't you guys just make a third party program to handle the nametags? :) .. I mean all you theoretically need is the code for the player's coordinates right?

Names still appear in the squad menu! (caps lock), but uhh.... teamkilling happens enough as it is. People do apparently need name tags, clearly defined forces uniforms, a flashing green indicator of friendlies, and FF off -_-

Keep your squad member's nametags on and I could get used to it, since you can't really use opposing forces kits (so seeing the uniform should be enough for a reason to shoot or not).

Can you do it so it only shows friendly tags and not enemies?

Last night I played with a decent lot not many TKs however I was just playing right now on Black Gold US server so many teamkills, so so much chat spam, swearing insults etc.

Time of day has an enormous effect on playerbase when there's a good crowd on Beta is OK but when it's like it just was ....

Not really though right? Because even when you get close enough to an enemy and look at them long enough their name would come up red.

They never could deactivate it at 0m range from enemy. But that doesn't really matter, i mean, how long are you next to an enemy in 0m range? ;)

keep the nametags.
that would simulate that you have trained with your team a long time before go to the war.

How come no original Battlefield 2 developer from DICE step forward and help you developers with this issue?

Can the PR dev team confirm or deny a solution to this is being dealt with?

Guys, its just not possible to have nametags for 64+ players.
So whether we have 36 guys without nametages and 64 WITH them. Or no one at all.

The problem with only 64 nametags is that the 36 guys without get teamkilled more, because you think "no nametag? lets shoot it!"
The thing with no nametags at all is that you WILL get used to it ! just give it a go. In long term the gameplay will increase. And the massive teamkills will decrease with some time.

No nametags has several advantages:

- more realism, has you dont have nametags in real-life too ;)
- players double check the map, in some time everyone will first THINK and then shoot ! everyone suffers from this, not only you.
- more teamwork/squadwork as you have to be more careful

a third option (dunno if possible) would be nametags just for SQLs

Indeed. 100p (half without name tags) is useless, either remove them completely or cap it to 64-players with name tags.

I actually liked it when there were no nametags, the only change I'd like to see is the kit backpacks being more unique, you know, you can easily know its your squadleader once you see the antenna on his back, the specialist has the hook, the LAT has, well, the LAT on his back. DEVs should make all the kits easily distinguishable. In my opinion this would help a lot.

And AFAIK, in reality squads operate together, instead of being scattered all over the map like in PR. If it was like that IRL, it would lead to more friendly fire accidents.

Nametags only for squad is the best way.

For the 1000th time: that does not work! We cannot decide which nametags to display, it's either all or nothing. And all means only 64p out of a hundred.
