Re: Major Performance Issues

Has anyone currently found a fix for the crashing problem?

Still getting some shitty FPS on Dovre, too much trees. I think this map needs some work.
Anyway, thank you, devs! I am having a great experience with 1.0. Had some freaking cool rounds in the last three days!
If I may, sir? How come our new and superbly looking PR Launcher (prlauncher.exe) uses 99% CPU at times?[R-DEV]AncientMan wrote:Yeah, PRLauncher links PRBF2 and PRMumble, as well as handles the talking list, transmit icons, all that stuff. It also handles things like the compass marker, BUIS, and lots of other little things in the background. It's very much an important thing for a lot of v1.0 functionality

Everyone that have a Nvidia graphic card try using nvidia's BF2 profile settings with PR1.0 ! it should help with performance issue !
Download attached file and unzip it ! also download Nvidia Inspector from HERE and run it ! and then ;
1_ open profile setting manager
2_ select Import profile and import attached profile by it
Done !
Indeed. This thread and comment have my full attention. I would love an AMD fix too.Prevtzer wrote:Damn it SAM, why can't you own a RadeonWould you be so kind to explain what you did and what these setting are supposed to do, so us Radeon guys could also try to set something like this up? Some sort of instruction would be great.
Thanks!
With the last update [1.0.31], my PR1.0 perfmonance seems to be significantly improved, it`s still not as high as the 80-90FPS i would usually get, but im getting between 50-60FPS without drops or freeze.Nachino wrote:I used to play with around 90FPS and wouldn`t drop under 60FPS even on the most demanding situtations while using the 0.98 version or previous. Now it seems that in most maps my FPS can go over 25.
(It`s a GTX660M the one i use to playv PR, even if the Display Information says otherwise).
Spoiler for System Information:
Nvidia drivers has this set of profiles that contains many kind of fixes and workarounds for games bugs that should eventually boost the performance of the games ! infact nvidia's BF2 profile has 24 of this fixes ! but since DEVs changed the name of executable file to PRBF2.exe in 1.0 , nvidia driver doesn't recognize the game as BF2 and therefore doesn't apply this fixes to it !Prevtzer wrote:Damn it SAM, why can't you own a RadeonWould you be so kind to explain what you did and what these setting are supposed to do, so us Radeon guys could also try to set something like this up? I tried it out and it doesn't seem to help much. Was still getting about 40-50 fps on Wanda Shan, 30-40 on Iron Ridge. I didn't try out any other maps that I know have problems (such as Marlin and Dovre), but I imagine they'd be more of the same. However that Nvidia Inspector program is still useful for applying ambient occlusion to PR, looks nice.SAM609 wrote:Nvidia drivers has this set of profiles that contains many kind of fixes and workarounds for games bugs that should eventually boost the performance of the games ! infact nvidia's BF2 profile has 24 of this fixes ! but since DEVs changed the name of executable file to PRBF2.exe in 1.0 , nvidia driver doesn't recognize the game as BF2 and therefore doesn't apply this fixes to it !
So I just basically exported the BF2 profile with Nvidia Inspector and changed the name of executable file inside it and then saved it as Project Reality BF2 profile ! I don't know how much it'll boost the performance of the game , but there should be some !
PS: ATI has a similar program called RadeonPRO that can be used to do the same thing for ati graphic card !

You're welcome bro ! any time !!dogmaster wrote:My game is not running smooth on 1.0, its like playing with a delay of reaction.
And bigger maps like Saarema, with lots of trees. Its terrible for me.
But I know in the Beta I had no single problem, strange..
And I have to restart my game every 2-3 rounds, other wise its not playable any more.
I installed the suggestion that Sam tells here, only tried it in Ramiel, it was running smooth and no lag at all, it was good and nice!
But I still have to test it on Bigger maps like Saarema to be sure.
( I will Update when I found out. )
Anyway thank u Sam for Helping us out here,
Big Kiss.
