Fire the Pak36/40 at landing craft and infantry.
Honestly, I have no idea how the US is going to be able to get up that beach. The Germans have pillboxes, AT guns, stationary mortars, and MGs. Maybe the US tanks will even it up a bit?

...after I decided if I should play as a GI first and storm the beach or grab the 42 and spray some lead on it

Think I've decided, and I think I'll make a mortar squad and hide on a bunker spotting for enemy troops for my first game and have my squad mates rain hell on unsuspecting infantry >
