I created the AAS32 layer on Brenn4ans request, I guess it's an easy fix if the map turns out to be good.
but yeah, atm I need to get this minimap working.

I'm still having some problems with the minimap..Previously I only got a line in the middle of the map so it was pretty easy to just replace the color of one half, but now it looks like this :S
I'm guessing it's my AMD gfx that messing it up, is there something I can do to fix this? I tried turning off catalyst A.I texture filtering but there is only option to put it on low not "off"..

To anyone who Has ATI graphics cards... this TUT may cause some issues with generating the minimap when pressing show. To fix this, delete your minimap.dds in editor folder, then open catalyst control center and make sure your @Catalyst AI is disabled. When back in editor do your minculldistance and your nolods to 1 will work just fine when u press show.

Go to preferences and restore factory defaults in ccc.
idk if it will work or not, but its worth a try.

we all know this issue, photoshop is the only real solution get a .psd sorted with the borders of the islands and save the selection for later. that way you can redo the minimap without going through the same pain.

Is there a way to set the water texture to be a flat white or 50%grey? That could make your photoshop selection much easier/cleaner.

I think its the lightmaps(and envmaps?) that controls that, so afaik you need ro remove lightmaps if you want to make the water one flat color:/
I tried putting "show water" off which makes it all black but when I replace that black color with a blue one it messes up the carrier and other things that are black.

did you lowered your waterlevel for minimapcreation ?
if you render without water you can go to photoshop and make a color selection with 0% tolerance and select black, that way only the area where water was gets selected

iirc I set the water colour to something like bright orange, removed the envmaps temporary etc and crated just a 2048x2048 minimap. Then increased its size to that of the mega map, selected the orange water and refined the selection a bit, deleted the old water and made new water.

No it was just a small project. The map is finished, but I could have put in a lot more hours to make it look much better. I will probably put up a dl-link soon if anyone is interested.
