Re: Free Candy Van [PRTA] (North America)
Sorry about this, but I got few questions.
1 Will admins be limiting teamswitches?
I see a decent amount of players teamswapping to the 'good' team, or high k/d team. I have to admit and be honest, I have switched teams before because of the **** team I was on. (Mainly a team that doesn't have mics or are completely idiots to everyone). But this is out of curiosity.
2 Can you guys please discipline asset users who are wasting their assets constantly?
Well, this is an issue on every server.... but it's ridiculous after someone wastes a trans heli 3-6 times per-round. They either don't know how to operate the asset properly, or keep driving it right into a enemy location time after time.
(Like, driving a LAV into enemy TOW trying to kill it 3 times and failing). Or chopper pilots who have no clue how to operate them.
3 Are admins going to make a rule requiring a mic/communicate?
I have had a problem a few days or week ago on your server.... at least 4 guys joined my squad and did not have a mic. I kicked them all from the squad ofc. But, then you have those who don't have a mic squad leading and are operating a important asset such as a APC. And then you have people who have a mic but do not communicate with the team. They are their "1 man army". I can name countless times that this issue occurs, especially with some clan using the 'primary' asset. Such as a Tank or APC. (But that is a issue on every server).
Just curious though. Thanks a bunch.

Had a series of bad rounds tonight. Seems to be becoming a common issue. One team is dominant, other team is not. Apparently normal admins do not have the ability to scramble teams, I would recommend letting them do so.

Re: Free Candy Van [PRTA] (North America)
I have some feedback for your admins regarding scramble.
As you may or may not know, !scramble ignores clan tags, or should I say, groups them on a team... so if a team is already stacked with clans, using scramble serves no purpose as it will just shuffle around the randoms on the server, not really making a difference.
A more effective tool, especially for [AIC]... since you guys are admins on the server, would be to simply switch your whole squad of 6-9 players over to the team that is losing, in which case:

*** to clarify, I'm not blaming anyone, just trying to suggest how you might better balance your server since your admins are also clan members.

- You still get to play together
- It will make a huge difference to the force multiplier on the losing side
- You get a much better challenge, since you were complaining about Marlin being boring... well no shit since we were steamrolling them (and had been for 3 rounds in a row)

Re: Free Candy Van [PRTA] (North America)
Autobalance is on, so not everyone should be able to switch freely. If I get asked for a switch, I will generally only do it if they provide me with a reason (friends on the other team) AND if there isn't an issue with utterly unbalanced teams already.matty1053 wrote:1 Will admins be limiting teamswitches?
If the wasters get reported, they will be dealt with. You have to understand though, that it isn't always so easy for us to see if he is actually wasting the assets or if he is just unlucky. Say a pilot crashes three times. Then he gets reported. What I will do in that case is warn the pilot to please not fly if he really can't and then try to keep an eye on him. If he then goes ahead and flies the chopper directly into a tree with me seeing that, sure, I will resign him and tell him to not fly on the server until he learned how to. But it can be hard to tell if he is wasting the chopper or getting shot down and I will give players the benefit of the doubt.matty1053 wrote:2 Can you guys please discipline asset users who are wasting their assets constantly?
The thing is, I believe the more a team is loosing, the more sensitive the players get to seemingly wasted assets. But in so many cases it is just a combination of the whole team not working together. Squad Leaders ask choppers to go to dangerous places, Tanks don't deal with AAs, CAS looses against enemy CAS. In such a situation you'd have to be a top of the line pilot to make it all the time. If you suspect someone is wasting assets, ask yourself if maybe it wasn't the teams fault.
This is required. If we get a Squad Leader reported that doesn't use a mic, he will be resigned. If you feel an asset isn't used to help the team, report them. We have new rules coming up that address this in a clearer langauge.matty1053 wrote:3 Are admins going to make a rule requiring a mic/communicate?
But you also have to keep in mind that a single Tank that is lonewolfing isn't the cause of the problem if the whole team isn't working together. The first thing you should always do if you think there isn't enough teamwork and communication: start it yourself! Start reporting what you see, ask SLs for support, get the conversation going.
@[R-CON]Psyrus: What I like to do in scenarios like this is just ask one of the clans if they can't just all switch to the other team. In my experience, most of the time they are really helpful in that regard.
And again, this is something that will be addressed in our upcoming new rules. We are currently finalizing them and they should be up by next weekend.

Not a huge fan of the reserved slots, especially when they are not being used.

To be fair we just implemented them and not very many people have access to the reserved slots.camo_jnr_jnr wrote:Not a huge fan of the reserved slots, especially when they are not being used.

Which would be why YOU, yes you, camo_jnr_jnr should apply for one right now! Sign up on prteamwork.com for your PRTA membership and you can request a reserved slot. Think of the possibilities!

Ah yes, I remember the possibilities, how glorious they were.... leading a squad... round is going great "Oh look I've been booted for a supporting member"gamma_gandalph wrote:Which would be why YOU, yes you, camo_jnr_jnr should apply for one right now! Flying the CAS for the round "Oh look I've been booted for a supporting member"
Nothing but good times with reserved slots
(Not saying you shouldn't, it's your own server but aside from "we need to incentivize people to donate by giving them SM slots" it's hard to see the justification for it)

Financing is and will never be a problem. I do not support that money-gathering scheme at all. The reserved slots are for PRTA members. For those who want a reserved slot they will have to join PRTA.'[R-CON wrote:Psyrus;2037803']Ah yes, I remember the possibilities, how glorious they were.... leading a squad... round is going great "Oh look I've been booted for a supporting member"

We do not run the TG script where people are kicked for supporting members. These are standard Reserved slots, there are 2 of them.'[R-CON wrote:Psyrus;2037803']Ah yes, I remember the possibilities, how glorious they were.... leading a squad... round is going great "Oh look I've been booted for a supporting member"

If you are in the list you are let in when there is 98 players on the server.

Ahhh, ok! Sorry I've never worked with reserved slots except for with TG, so I wasn't aware that their system was special. Thanks for the clarification[R-CON]Wicca wrote:We do not run the TG script where people are kicked for supporting members. These are standard Reserved slots, there are 2 of them.

Is it considered "bad etiquette" to habitually switch to OpFor in most matches?

Whats with the horrible map votes?
Today I decide to join, for once to sit back and R.E.L.A.X.
And the votes were horrible! People were suggesting other maps and then the admins put the worst type of maps... Gaza, Op Marlin, *I can't remember last one.*
Gaza won, but no one suggested all 3 maps...
Wouldn't mind a more variety of maps, instead of having Gaza in everyvote.

Ever thought of poking an admin on teamspeak? About 99% of them are cool enough to throw one in if you ask them to.

Before every map vote tonight, the admins !r asked the server for suggestions. All of the map votes were done with maps suggested by people in chat. If anything, I think they are doing a good job of listening to what the server wants to play and I really like that.brenn4n wrote:You might not like Gaza, but a lot of people do. It's opinion-based.
