Had a "Help Newbies" Squad for 3 rounds yesterday, was a good fun. Its very stressful to lead and teach at the same time, but the benefits are awesome.
It kinda feels like being new again, you see everything with the eyes of the noobs. A CAS attack looks way more awesome, 2 squads fighting together same way with apc support is again an epic feeling and not just daily PR life. Always proud when the newbies see what PR can be.

But I also have the feeling that some of the veterans don't care for the new players at all and just use the situation to rape everything with a Tank oder APC.
Also the game experience on the servers that used to be empty seems to be pretty bad. No administration, no teamwork, even saw a full server without mumble working at all. All the new players there probably got a total wrong insight into the game!

I can just encourage every experienced player to lead a squad, even if you never did that before yet, but now its the right time. We don't need the perfect squadleader who knows the best spots for building a FOB, but someone who talks to the new guys, keep them together and cares for good teamwork. Then the new players will stay!

Just wait until the weekend. Then there has been a couple of days since release and people who couldn't play on the weekdays will join in.

We're too few veterans too be honest. A regular night of PR maybe had around 300 playing. And even then it wasn't guaranteed that the gameplay was top. We really need to step down from playing with our clans and buddies for a while and just lead squad everywhere.

take a leaf from the old iGi book, come on with your clan...but all of you squad lead a load of pubs each!

I prefer to call it the TG way.

I think something should be done about servers that are not using mumble, don't have unified PR rules as well as no admins. I also played on a full server without admins as well as on a full server without mumble. The experience was awful. Felt like vBF2.

The worst thing about it is that new players don't get the real PR feel and are more likely to go away.

Then we need more servers As all the servers that can fill up, usually do almost every day now. How servers are run is their business, although we do expect them to get the basics such as a website and a dedicated staff. The faster they get that stuff, the faster their server can stay popular and respected. But it's been less then a week, we can't get all strict now when we are soo low on servers.

No, the TG way was to totally saturate the server with teamplayers wherever you looked Teamwork nuclear option.

Just got out of RIP. We need all veterans to squad lead to teach the ropes. It was a tough balance but we just need veterans to be extra nice and helpful by making squads more than ever now.

My fingers are still crossed that TG brings back its server or two!

Just wanted to add whats already been said, I still haven't had the chance to play 1,3 but seeing this influx of new players and ze veterans support makes me happy inside, no wonder why this is the only online game I play/played for over 7 yrs. Keep calm and carry in chaps.

Noob is kinda derogatory implying you're a boob (i.e. asshat).

I had a lot of fun (after I got Mumble to work, didn't understand what I was supposed to do when nobody talked). I played with a good squad and sl who was very patient. At least half our squad were newbies but we functioned quite well. So as a new player it was very encouraging.

Just downloaded and installed last night, played a bit of coop with just bots so far..not going *live* until I get a mic that I KNOW will work on PC. I have an old PS3 turtle beach headset that works from time to time on PC...but still.. 'shrugs'

Good on you man. Having a working microphone will really help with your enjoyment of the game.

When you get one, remember to join an infantry squad as just a Rifleman and tell your squad leader that you're new. Hopefully, he'll be willing to help you out. (Don't forget to read the manual! It helps a lot!)

Hopefully the SL won't be new as well, lol.
