Yeah. However I missed a bunch of stuff on that one. I thought about trying again with this release but at that time I thought the release was just around the corner and not worth the effort.
You can give it a shot though GeZe. Just click eggman's name and hit "see all eggman's posts". Compile, edit, add, remove.

I think I'm a bit late in this topic but...
It just looks awesome. Like egg said, small detail that makes it much prettier and realsitic as well.
Same thing about the kits too.

And the real thing:

Brilliant, but why the colour now?
REPEAT of early question: any chance of a basic stablizer that if you hold a key for example the gun remains stable on the vertical axis but can be turned like normal alone the horizontal axis.
And this only happens when you hold the key down, designed for short use mainly.
This feature would add so much to PR tank gameplay, both physically in terms of gunning and phcological in terms of that the tank does actualy have a computer asisting you to aim like in real life - far from the complex system in RL but enough to make it feel so much more imersing, the tank becoming truely the mighty beast!

first one posted was an APC HUD. The footage we've been able to locate of APC combat typically has them with a black and white thermal imager.
The pic above is of an M1A2 HUD and the real thing, obtained for us by a tank creqwman serving in thbe US military.

Tanks should be beasts in v0.5. But so should the attack helicopters heh. Will have to see how it goes
wrt the stabiliser thing... not aware of a way to do that, but will think on it.

One thing i noticed in 0.4 is that you can switch from HEAT to AP rounds instantly in APC's. I'm no APC Gunner in real life, but i'm sure there's gotta be some sort of delay from when switching ammo type. Like how it is in MBT's.
At least the autocannon in bradley fires from two different belts which can be changed (afaik) with just a flick of a switch. And i think the engineers have streamlined every autocannon operation with multiple ammunition types to be as fast as possible.

Pretty cool. I thought it would be something like that. Instead of some goon having to manually change the belt.

I'm liking the M1A2 HUD. I find it amazing that you guys can actually get real tankers to get you images of real life Tank HUD things.
One question, you got the M1A2, but what about the T90/Type 99?

Is it possible to add a reloading bar to the hud?
I know it may not have that in real life - but since you cant see the 'reloader' reload the cannon, I thought it would be nice to simulate somehow :/

Think of all the TK!!! If people are blaming TKs on "oh, sorry, you looked like a MEC", think about it without colour, some people are already colour blind.

0.5 related question, not really but ....
Been asked before, cant remebr answer, screw you, searching almost impossible: When you are shot, your character is sent prone - is this possible?????
Just a simple yes or no from a DEV would be cool, sparing me the hardcoded repsonce!

Very nice, looks like we'll have some real mechanized infantry action. And its about time the abrams crosshair went red! Awesome job, this mod went way beyond my expectations of what was even possible with BF2. Any word on an M113 though?

Type 99 / T90 reticule & HUD references hard to come by. If anyone can source some good refs there that would be a huge help.
Handheld weapons work a lil differently and are more time consuming to correct, but we do intend to correct them all to an accurate state over time.
there's a "round status" indicator in the HUD, shows 0 when no round loaded and 1 when there is a round up.
the APCs remain black and white. They have zoom on them so should help identify players. Need to be careful tho.
HE and AP weapons have been much more differentiated, so slamming a building with HE should have a much more obvious difference between AP and HE.
not possible to force prone on being shot afaik.
wrt an M113 .. er.. don't think that's really much more than a tracked coffin nowadays isn't it hehe? Not in the current plans for vehicle additions.

Well, since the T-90 is based on the T-72, I would think they would have the same gunners view.
This is a pic I got from some sort of sim game of the T-72 gunners view:
Of course, the things such as the compass etc are not part of the actual hud.

Oh yeah, USI had one of THE best ever T-72 HUDS, ever. I know you guys have already taken alot of stuff from USI already but i'm sure you could make it up to them.
You could probably just "modernise" the USI T-72 Hud so that it would look like what a T90 one might look like?
