My friend's "Caliber_k" from BFSP and the AI-X crew, so he got me 3Ds MAX, but won't help me learn it

'[R-MOD wrote:Mongolian_dude']Would someone like to try moddle a makarov pistol for the insurgent RPG gunner to use?
...mongol...
I suppose I can try later. It'll probably end up looking more like a block of wood, though.

Hey, KP, if you want to make Bob_Marley happy, when you're done with the MP5, can you make me a Taiwanese T77 SMG? It's basically a MAC-10, Bob has some reference pics. It probably won't be done for my initial release, but I will add it in later, when you're done. That'll be much more realistic than that HK53 they're using right now.

All right, a weapon for the Taiwanese? Interesting. It'll definitely be some time before I'm finished with this gun, but when I am, I might just want to make Bob happy
EDIT: Bob, if you're reading this, just PM me the pics!

No, believe me, it wouldn't!

I have lousy pedagogical (is that even a word?) skills. And I'm not that familiar with Gmax/3Dsmax yet.

That was a pretty kickass MP5

Thanks, it feels good to be loved

Still, it's only a bunch of cylinders and cubes with a bit of editing and pieces cut out of them. And a poly count that's all over the place. Anyone could do that. It's just a matter of getting good reference pics and paying attention to detail.
Now I'm learning proper, low-poly modelling. Which is a bit more difficult and a damn lot more time-consuming.

Allright, I've thought about it, and decided that I'll try making a short tutorial myself and post it as a new thread soon. If it can be of any help to anyone...

I'll post a tut about making a (very) basic M4.

SF FACTION FOR THE USA!
if we get one that is....

Hehe, we won't use it. I'll have to make a new one (as you can see, I've already started) with a lower poly count. Then, maybe it can be used by the US Spec Ops...
