give em a shitter pistol like a makorov or something, make sure the iron sights are centred this time though ; L

the RPG trooper doesnt need a SMG, regardless how many clips you would give it.
In my honest opinion, It would be far more effective to give them a iron site that WORKS and isnt a bit to low. I would much rather get a revolver with 6/8 shots then use this ..thing and let them keep thier binoc's, they have to be able to spot enemy threats from a distance so they can run or hide intime. :p

edit, on the other hand i do vote for a pair of heavy AT pick up kits for insurgents. you know the RPG7 with dual explosive heads to counter reactive armor? give them those :D

So you say a pistol is for defense? This is true....for an army who can afford a primary weapon. If you could only afford pistols for your army, would you equip them with long sticks and then when their stuck runs out of ammo, go to the pistol. I would think it be most wise to make the pistol your main weapon, since you spent the rest of the cash on AKs for everyone else.

You arnt going to defend with with an SMG with 30 rounds either, your going to die on the next guy, since US are likely to travel in squads/groups/pairs. That one clip of low call rounds would alow you to drop one guy and then get dropped by the second guy when you pull out your knife.
Like a real insurgent, your best defense should be the place you are. You fire your RPG and run for your life. You get shot at, you run for your life.(unless the idea is to die in the process) If you come into an alley againats a troop, you do your best with what you have and then run again to avoid the next guy, until you fine someone who can kill them with ease.

The fact is, your not meant to be good at shooting INF, conventionaly, with an RPG gunner. In RL, they shoot RPGs at soldiers AND armour. That should be enough. Classes have their weaknesses and the RPG gunners is exactly that.

The insurgent rpg gunner skin is carrying 3 rpgs (two on his body and one in the launcher) Why not give him three rpgs and get rid of the binocs?

binocs can be your savior if you have to travel a far distance to a ammodump. And thus should stay s the RPG guys can atleast scout while hoping to evade enemies.

I would MUCH rather give up the damn pistol for an extra RPG then lose the binoc.

Overpowering and unrealistic.

The RPG guy for insurgents is a dedicated AT/fire support soldier. He sacrifices having a more powerful conventional weapon for carrying multiple RPGs.

And even in the Soviet army doctrine was to have an RPG gunner with a pistol (addmitenedly an APS fully automatic pistol) so he could carry more rockets.

Also, in the areas where the Insurgents are portrayed the 5.45mm AKs are fairly rare, as they stuck with 7.62x39mm.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

If I play as an Insurgent RPG soldier, turn a corner and come face-to-face with a US soldier, what I usually do is blast him with a grenade and run away. Usually works well. :) In the right hands the RPG is great against infantry, as it should be imo, but it's not really a viable choice in a pure infantry battle, since you can only drop a couple of enemies before running out of ammo.. after that, if you don't have a teammate nearby to resupply you or cover your back, it's your own fault. :)

The pistol is only really useful if you're able to sneak up on someone, or truly desperate. Which is as it should be. They don't need heavier anti-inf armament.

What i think most people are failing to take into account is reality. What do the vast majority have/use in this region?

If your complaining about something perfectly reasonable and accurate, i think you should consider if this mod is for you. Lol, dont mean to push anyone away but its as good as a nilla player saying
"The 50cals are overpowered. In normals BF2, it took 5 shots to the chest so you had time to get away and shoot back".
