You know these countries are developed right? Even poor countries have an abundance of cars, motorcycles, etc.
Maybe if it was a WWI game, then horses would be interesting, but for modern combat horses would be silly and way too hard to design and script for.
Why do the maps all make Iraq and Afghanistan look like a shithole?

Yes, they did, and still do. Many also receive training in handling pack animals.

IIRC complex animal animations are impossible to do in BF2 and previous BF versions. It is however, possible in BF2142 due to the fact that the mechs use these kind of animations.
Horses move really strange.... you people ever play that BF1942 Civil War Mod with the horses O.o?

OMFG.. Ya'll are stupider then I thought.. And obviously don't read..
One there are rarely any horses in the middle east because they need alot of water, that water would be used by the insurgents themselves not for the animals.
Second, they would use camels, camels don't move to quickly.
