I sometimes take it srs, but sometimes it's just too much of an effort when i'm saying "down", not "man down, man down!" etc.

I talk calmly but sensibly.

'[R-MOD wrote:eddie']I always run my mouth off on VOIP, I don't care, if someone has a problem with it they can tell me to stfu or kick me out of their squad.
I don't consider shouting "ALLUH AKHBAR" roleplaying, as its joking.

I quite like the casual approach. After 10 hours at the office I don't want to feel like I've come home to another job. It's good to get in a squad with some nice guys that you've played with before and have a bit of fun.

I say 'durka' for everything If I play insurgents.

"Durka! There is a durka up in the durka durka. Durka jihad!"

I say it. like i say "down", "smoking", "under fire", etc. But shouting's no good.

That's the right idea. For me its usually things like "Heavy enemy presence!" "Enemy rally point!" "Taking fire!", and, before we spawn "Any kit recommendations, squad leader?"

Hopefully people can get some ideas from that.

*loves sneaking to a nice spot then shouting "Go, go, go!"*

It's nice when people go "Enemies, six 'o clock!", "Hostiles inbound, take cover!", stuff like that.

I don't know about roleplaying...

My background in the military was in communications, so I tend to use the venacular particularly when I'm playing with other service members just because it is a massive effective shorthand that communicates more detailed information in a turnicated manner that frees comms up for more actionable intel to pass over the wire.

If thats roleplaying, then I guess I ought to audition for broadway?!

Sometimes it's fun sometimes i they piss me off enough to cause me to put a bullet in the there heads then kick him out of my squad.

I like enthusiasm but I hate people, usually kids and teenagers, that get overboard with emotions. They get really pissed and start moaning and bitching about imbalance and shit when they die. I also dont like when, again usually kids and teenagers, live into this military jargon too much. They know all the nerd words such as SITREP etc and go overboard with that. This might be a bit evil and prejudical, but I cant stand kids voices on the voip either. It makes me feel silly like I am playing a kids game and should grow up and do something mature such as build a new carport or something.

But a commander that is a little kid is the worse expectantly when they think they are in charge over everyone on the team.

I like members to be joking around having a good time whilst playing properly, having a laugh over voip makes those long walks go quicker. I dont wanna listen to some motor mouth retard either, or some angry squad leader/member who flips out when someone doesnt do what they want them to do

puglous wrote:I might be alone here, but for some reason this annoys me to no end. That is, when you are playing in a squad with VOIP and people are talking like they're smoking pot, half asleep, or both. I'm aware that's a condition a lot of BF2 players may find themselves in, but I still wish people would be a bit more spirit during battle when using VOIP. It totally kills the mood when people are saying things like "*Yawn* Hey dude...uh...like, enemies to the West and *yawn* stuff...............[they finally release their finger on the VOIP key after about a minute]" while bullets are wizzing by my head.

Now, I don't go as far as role-playing in Project Reality (you know, screaming about Allah when you are the Insurgents or anything like that), but there's usually a sense of desperation in my tone. Even so, I wouldn't mind role-playing, as long as people didn't yell blood curdling screams into their mic every time they died.

I'd like to hear your oppinions, though. Is the way people speak on VOIP an issue for you, and if so, what kind of communication style do you like the most?

:) You gotta realize that some of us have family that are sleeping when we play as well...

I understand what you mean, but also, in the case of myself, some have sleep disorders, so i'm ALWAYS tired. :D Even as i write this i'm yawning XD and it's only 5:30

EDIT: a good example is a battle i played on BoQ, where our squad leader was a complete "female body part cleaner bag" who thought that every single person was a crappy person who wasn't listening to him... He yelled at me for one maning a tank after my gunner got replaced in the TG server for a "Supporting member" which, might I add, HAPPENS AT THE MOST INCONVENIENT TIME ><, so i had to drive back to main to pick up a person, who used a truck to reach me faster, and he's like "You're wasting assets" and i'm like "it's more of a waste of assets to not have a gunner in this tank than a little carrier truck...", and eventually we drove by it later where we picked up it and took it to build firebases anyways, so it became quite useful..

:D Ending point... We all live in different time zones as well, and we like to relax a little sometimes

No rp please. Those kiddies who watched blackhawk down and then get all srs bsns in my squad piss me off because they generally have little clue how to really play.
