Total stab at the dark, but Stoner?

Well, in IRL hiding around a corner is still not going to help you...that minigun will eat through it so fast...if your not dead then you'll be blind from debris, and def not happy. Hell if it can go through and engine block/Tank it'll get you on the corner buddy. Lets stop pussy footing around this and just put in the dang splash damage...it'll do just fine as a solution. Right now, these Helo's go down like Oragami anyways...lets at least give them a realistic retaliation. I think, limited ammo + small radius splash damage would take care of things.interceptor7 wrote:I figured that was the reason, but wouldn't it make more sense to up the damage? That way the guy hiding around a corner doesn't get killed by the "HE 7.62s"?
General Electric. Richard Gatling invented the original gatling gun, not the m134 or m61 vulcan. I like thin mints.Soulja wrote:Anyone who can name the creator of the M134 without a search gets a cookie.![]()

I could be wrong here, but think of all bullets the Jolly Greens absorbed in Vietnam...it seems to me that the existing BH get whooped up on pretty quick..and goes down....where as those Jolly Greens were more of a timex (a licken...and keeps on ticken). Really I'm just speculating though, I could be way off on this...hehe maybe I'm just pissed off at get waxed on Muttrah. Still...lets not get off the topic....give the minigun small radius splash damage! Even if I'm on MEC side...I want to see that minigun kicking *** like it should...I would like to see some Enmy's hide from it and show it the respect it does...its a MINIGUN!! IRL the minigun has a radius of a kill zone depending on the range due to the natural bullet spread...so the splash damage rather enforces that...and if you hide behind corners...you still get owned IRL because the thing eats corners/tanks/Datsun spawn cars for breakfast. As it is now...I almost dont even want it used cause it gives away your position to anyone not paying attention.Semi wrote:Go down like oragami?
The helo's in game can sure as hell take more beating than a helo in real life.
Happens to me too. Although I don't know why.Jedimushroom wrote:I really wanna know why sometimes im in the minigun and it takes some time to start up before firing and there are no tracers, whereas other times I get in and it starts firing instantly and there are tracers.
Can someone tell me why this is?

Please let me know where I can find some of that tank-piercing 7.62x51.VipersGhost wrote:...you still get owned IRL because the thing eats corners/tanks/Datsun spawn cars for breakfast.
Someone else posted about it earlier in regards to a minigun eating through an engine block like butter as well as a tank over time, as far as where you can find it? Go to your local Gun shop, they should have something that will work...of course you have to have a minigun shooting 3000rpm...and have indeed quiet a bit of ammo. Eitherway its not going to happen on a battlefield often, I was mearly making a point as to the destructive power of a minigun. Lets put it this way...I wouldn't want to personally sit in a stationary tank while a minigun bored a hole through my armorinterceptor7 wrote:Please let me know where I can find some of that tank-piercing 7.62x51.![]()
Seriously, splash damage for small arms (yes, a 7.62mm minigun is "small arms") is dicey, at best. IMHO, the damage should be upped to one shot/one kill to account for the unrealistically (and unfixable) low ROF. If splash damage HAS to be implemented, please make it a very small radius. AND severely limit the ammo capacity (these things run out of ammo VERY quickly).
I would like to see more tracers, or iron sights, or both!
That would almost certainly never happen on the battlefield.Liquid_Cow wrote:From what I could find in a quick search, 7.62X51mm AP can penetrate 15mm of rolled homogenious armor steel. The armor a BTR is 7-10mm. Normally one 7.62mm round would not do much damage to an APC, but firing hundreds down on top of an APC (so the slope of the armor does not help) and you can take out an APC. Given enough fire, you may even be able to take out an MBT (wipe off the sights, vent covers, hatches, even penetrate small openings and hit critical systems).
I'm pretty sure he was mearly proving a general point not referencing battlefield situtations.DirtyHarry88 wrote:That would almost certainly never happen on the battlefield.
