thats cool, but not realistic. lets keep it strictly on things that spec ops get in real life, like swords and jet packs.

Bit of a derail happened I see.

How about, point man, scoped standard issue rifle, no smoke, no frags, 2 claymores with motion trip on them.

Then have a "spec ops" kit in the request menu with c4 instead of slams.

get back on topic.

IMO. id rather see the spec ops binned all together.
if he was to come back id rather see him in his own force, such as army rangers or royal marine commandos etc....

not a big fan of the cqc solider, for 2 reasons
1. hes no more realistic than the kit hes replacing.
2. if the us army turn up they are probley gonna be armed with M4's and every one is gonna be leaping for the full auto version rather than the burst version.
and theres already a cqc alternative in the form of the engineer and his shotty

I don't agree with the idea of making it a CQB rifleman. If a special forces soldier is being used for CQB then it is for counter-terrorism. Not to mention the M4 is already ace at CQB.

Oh and lose the SLAMs, replace with C4 for sure.

I just don't get why you wouldn't make it a limited kit. Or if not give it a MP5 or something like that and give the Officer the M4. Just do something to make less smacktards carry the kit. I absolutely HATE when every so often I'll get someone in the squad who absolutely will not work with the rest of the squad. He just gets his SF kit and goes about his own business when meanwhile we could use a Medic or Rifleman. It may offend some but 95% of the people who use a SF kit and don't work with the squad are n00bs who need to be gotten rid of. If you use the kit for uBeR pWnAgE or something then you need to be gotten rid of. If you get the SF kit because the SL asked for it or you need to go blow something up, I don't have a problem with it. But in my eyes, the SF should be used more like a special forces IRL. You should have to kinda sneak to your objective and try not to be noticed rather than just killing everything in your path because you have a powerful weapon. I'd really like to know the dumbass IRL that tells Special Forces in briefing that they gota destroy a objective and get outa the area, but to just walk a straight line there killing everything in your path and to completely ignore your buddys. I love to run Spec Ops style warfare in PRM, that's why i run the Spec Ops squad, but to me it should be a more cooperative class, not a lone wolf class that helps to invite the noobs that don't want to help the team.

In my opinion, the Spec ops class should be replaced with a limited kit along the lines of a "Delta" Class. I believe they participate in the same operations as other forces such as rangers, but I may be wrong.

Thinking of Americas Army, the SF/Delta wouldn't have anything special, but they would look damn cool :D

Paratrooper and CQB Rifleman kits just plain aren't realistic at all.

Who says the CQC M4 (U.S wise) has to be the full auto M4A1? We can still use the regular M4 with the burst and single shot modes. Just merely give it a reflex sight or something. In fact, a CQC/CQB kit could simply be the kit that actually uses the upcoming M4 model, since most other classes will still utilize the soon to come M16A4.

Make it A paratrooper kit!
To jump from where? A helicopter? Not the stealthiest approach, is it now? You could hear those things coming from 300m and if the insurgents already know they can drop paras, they'll sure be looking for 'em.
Anyway, is the ability of making a SF squad possible? The squad members could only get special forces kits if the squad leader has a SF officer kit, which would have a reservation time of 10 mins, and available only if the squad has 3 other members.
3 SF kits + SF officer kit per team and only when the teams are full, 32 players. And it's affordable to give him a SCAR since the kit is (very) limited. More types of kits too, something like: a sniper or DM, with a SPR; a gunner, with a SCAR H,1 frag, binocs and 4 or 5 field dressings; a demolitions expert, with a SCAR L,C4, slams, 3 or 4 frags and maybe thermite grenades; and the officer kit, with a SCAR L, binocs and 2 frags and 2 smoke grenades. Handguns for all kits.
Why I would like this layout? I think it encourages teamwork. How? Well the squad leader is the safety, the gunner protects the spawn point (aka squad leader), the demolitions guy does all the blowing up and the sniper covers the demolitions guy while he's working.
And you won't see half a team as SF anymore. From what I can tell, I should completely stop whoring as it all depends on one person if anyone on that team is going to get a SF kit.

IRL SF are very limited in numbers and limited in use. They have good weapons, trick gear the normal soilder doesn't have access to. Plain and simple. So to reflect reality, limit there numbers some how, limit the maps there used on and give them the weapons they need to complete SF tasks. Plain and simple.

If it can't be done then delet them. I know I will still PR regardless of what kits are left. Heck if all there was were rifleman and squad leaders I'd still play.

give it an m16 or an ironsight m4 and i dont give a shit what happens to it, it jus t sucks becasue at the moment people use it just for the gun, and its a worthless kit with no teamwork incentive so it just hampers gameplay

Give it a MP5SD, It shoots regular 9mm at subsonic speeds, so it wouldn't kill too fast.

Well I don't agree with any of the pole options. Special Forces are not JUST CQB specialists, nor are they just paratroopers. If you'd like one of those kits then demolish the Spec Ops kit and make a new one. Making it limited would do nothing good, neither would just leaving it as it is.

But I'm not going to suggest anything because all the DEV's are very well aware of my suggestions....that's beside the fact that when I suggest something it always seems to get into an argument. :? ??: :hissyfit:  :d rillserg :muted: :shrk: :fryingpan :bur2:

Only realistic poll options are the removal of the kit or making it limited

Muffin, I don't think they meant that they wanted to see the special forces kit become more CQB oriented, I think they meant they wanted to replace it with a normal soldier who specializes in CQB.

Parachutes were removed for a reason, so I don't think paratroopers would be a very good idea.

I've said it before, I believe the special forces kit should be removed or replaced with another "standard" soldier, and turned into a group of kits that will replace all normal kits on certain maps.

Also, as I've heard that the laser designator may actually be useful soon, the special forces kit could be changed into a CCT (Combat Controller.. I believe that's what they're called, anyways) kit and limited. Combat Controllers specialize in calling down air strikes, and things like that.

By the way, I believe the MP5SD uses subsonic 9mm rounds, rather than normal ones that are fired at subsonic speed...

The MP5SD is actually designed in such a way to fire standard (ie supersonic) 9mm ammunition which it reduces to subsonic speeds, rather than specialised low velocity ammuntition like most suppressed weapons.

But seeing as that makes no difference to how it would work in a game, its rather irrelevent.
