I'm thinking of buying a new graphic card.

radeon X800GT 256mb, GDDR3 pci express....what do you dudes think....

But it say's on BOLD letters that the mother board need a "pci express contact".....I'm not the computer expert so.....What in jesus's name is that.

I know this sounds odd but cant play BF2 with these specs

- AMD Duron 1,3 ghz
- Gforce 4 440mx (i was the first one of my school who got this thing... 4 years ago)
- 1024 mb RAM

It appeared good enough to model the MH6 little bird though
(which i will not be able to play ingame till i get a new system though)

It's the new standard (well, it seems standard now) connection modern graphics cards now use. It's replaced AGP slots. It's an old system but they've just improved it and it's faster than AGP is (twice so in theory). It's only found on the more recent motherboards, generally those that support the AMD 64 chips (I'm not sure about the Intel side of things, I don't keep upto date with 'em as much as AMD).

Go to run and type in dxdiag. It'll tell you all your system info like motherboard model and so forthe. Tap in the motherboard model into Google and it should come up with some sites with info about it. Check to see if it has "PCI-E" or "PCI-X" or similar (same thing, just a different way to say it). if it has PCI-Express then you'll be fine, if not then don't bother with that card, look for an AGP 8x version if there is one, or if you have the cash splah out on a new board that has PCI-E. It's very unlikely we'll see any new AGP cards in the future so it'll future proof you for a good while.

Sorry if that seems a bit slap stick, I was thinking on the spot haha.

Are you sure? Have you went through all the steps to clean your PC up a bit? Have you considered reformatting?

If you do alot of design work it's best to have all of your stuff backed up on an external hard drive anyhow. That way, anytime you have some problems with your PC that are hard to solve, you can format much faster and less painlessly.

My old computer was 2.4ghz, 256mb DDR and an ATI Radeon 9600 and it ran the game perfectly smooth on low settings, 64 player server.

3200+ Athlon 64-bit Processor running at 2.6 gigahertz.
An Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT, Overclocked.
Raid system: Two 120 Gig Hard disks paired ontop of two more 120 gig hard disks who are also paired. If one pair crashes the system rebuilds itself on the other pair. Thus making my system pretty much uncrashable so long as I take good care of it.
One 120 gigabyte SATA drive for backup purposes.
Two DVD Read/write/record drives.
Floppy disk of some brand or nature.
Sound Blaster Audigy 2. I've had this since they were new cards. Best sound card out there in my opinion.
And a little over 3 gigabytes of Ram.

Don't ask about the Ram... It was my dad's idea. He just cranked in more RAM than I told him was needed for some reason.
