Heard this from various vets. They are planning to drop shock paddles.

Although I think this is a bit silly. Ferris Bueller puts it much better than me:
Ferris the Awesome wrote: And if you think medics are godly, then you obviously havent played with many medics. Medics typically have the high scores because of heals and revives. Yeah, we have "jesus paddles", and if you have a problem with that, from now on, tell every medic that comes to your aid NOT to revive you and see how much fun you have. MY K/D ratio over the last few weeks runs close to 1/10, but my score average is about 250. Strange that I die a lot, but my teammates dont...or is it because i'm good at my job? Aslo, how is it the medic's fault that we can revive people who "ate c4 at 5 feet"? That sounds like a game code issue to me. If you think that people who get waxed at close proximity should be unrevivable, say so, but dont point the finger at the people who play medic like we're the ones in charge of that.
I like the paddles; I'm at my best when i'm running out into the heat of battle, dropping to the ground, and reviving the squad leader at the last second. It's not realistic, but DAMNIT IT GETS RESULTS!

*slams fist on table dramatically*

I had no idea the paddles would be gone. I'm unsure what to think of, as Ferris put it, medics losing their "Jesus paddles;" it's one of those gameplay vs. realism things. It goes without saying that there is no way in hell a field medic could possibly fix every mortal wound with a simple electric shock applied anywhere on the body let alone allow said soldier to be combat ready the instant of their "revival" but it has become such an integral part of the gameplay who know what detrimental effects the game will face without medics being able to revive their squadmates and, more importantly, their squad leaders.

I suppose, for now, I'll keep an open mind and welcome the change since I trust our devs to take the game in the right direction and hope it all works out. In case it doesn't it's not the end of the world and it's not as if the paddles can't be brought back.

Militia has no paddles, nor does Insurgents. All other factions retain them. FUD.

I was about to say the same thing. If you are medic, use the fielddressing.
When you are low on those, get your squads rifleman to resupply you.

Ah, sorry. I guess what I heard was hearsay. Don't listen to me, i'm an idiot. ¬_¬

Also, good news! I can continue my necromancer career. Thank you very much, Project Reality Dev Person! :D

loook what happened in saving private ryan... medic is shot...oops...SOL buddy...

i like it. ill still be a medic, and do my best to keep my buddies alive.
Every Lonewolf riflemen is able to heal himself infinte without playing in a squad...so no need for teamwork.
the only lonewolves i ever see are teh_ubeinsaneleetandgreat(but lacking in body armor) special forces....

I cant wait to see this new medic... body armor!?!?!? YES!!!!! finally I have a bit of a chance.

ooOOOhhhh i like that... cuz i really doubt ammo and bandages would be both carried together in an "ammo" bag....or am i an idiot...?

get ammo from rifleman, get more bandages from medic... that makes a ton of sense... nice Golden.

...ummm... is that possible?

Nah, I dont think that's possible. From what I've heard, everything that you can shoot, throw, or drop is considered "ammo" and "ammo bags" resupply all "ammo", no matter what.

Bummer eh?

Ok, medics can't heal themselves so we won't get the classic "shoot the guy, see him bunnyhop round a corner and heal himself".

Burning Mustache wrote:...he will spend a good amount of time of the round hiding in cover...where he is pretty vulnerable...
Vulnerable under cover? You need to start using Type 1 (hard) cover. A good squad will be able to quickly and efficiently set up defensive positions so that medics can heal team-mates without much risk to themselves. You can then move out to a new position.

Alas, this can rarely happen at the moment, what with all the vanilla n00bs running around as lone wolves, or else not bothering to follow orders. This means that all too often a vBF2 player will come screeching round a corner on his own and just spray you all down. :(

I did that and do that so so often if i am on my own  O, well i dont care and any way, i am an advicate of doing anything and everyhting to survive, even if it is very cheap, low, unrealistic and down right underhand with in the game...

If it's possible, why not exploit it. That's where the DEVs come in to make the game more realistic and "hardcode" people from using it.

I used to get a stroke everytime sometime instaproned me, now I do it all the time to counter it.

I know everyone else does it too, so don't deny it.

How about if medic class players can still heal themselfs but up to limited health value (only half health can be restored with medic pack). Medic will be still injured but can help himslef to get back on the feat and seek help from other medic.

That's what the 3 field dressings the Medic carries are for.
