Who ever said anything about conflict?

I'm sorry but I was talking about swearing, not swearing at someone. The two are quite different and there should be recognition of such. I don't like getting sworn at in the context of a petty video game fight anymore than anyone else.

As long as we are talking corollaries, I find the occasional 'Oh Shit, Incoming!' to be quite helpful to immersion.

I do like to think that we take context into consideration when an administrative action is taken. For your example, a simple warning message would be sent across the server. If you were directing words maliciously at another player, a kick (or worse) is coming your direction.

We understand swear words are common to some people and we realize nobody, including the admin team, is perfect. That is why we ask that players simply PM an admin if they have been banned. That gives us a chance to say hey, double back and read the rules, and we'll see you back on the server.

Try sending a PM to a moderator.
It's possible they are not paying much attention to this hissy fit we are all throwing.
But the over sized font will definitely attract their attention.

I have to get my say in. My experience with TG has been unpleasant, to say the least.

I must say, though, that asch seems to be the only admin over there with a level head. As others have said, he is the only one that doesn't act like a complete pretentious goon.

With that said, I was kicked twice within five minutes for two utterly ridiculous things yesterday. Anyone who plays with me, however, knows I'm a stickler for playing by the rules.

First, I was kicked because of "language" for saying, "Stop killing civilians, moron". There was one particular player who consistently kept killing civilians on purpose. I nicely asked him to stop, to no avail. Then, after he killed a few more, I made a remark to him demanding him to stop, rightfully addressing him as moron. I wasn't cussing him by saying "Stop f***ing killing the damn civilians, you stupid motherf***er". Now if I had said that, I could understand why I had been kicked.

I just find it funny that I get kicked for something so minute, yet the player who was truly disrupting gameplay remains (not to mention, since when has "moron" become bad language?)...

Second, I was kicked for "not following CO orders", when I was never even issued any orders! Come on, give me a break...

And no, I couldn't have run to another server if I didn't like it, considering at the time that TG .6 was the only highly populated server.

I also found this highly amusing, as said from a TG admin:

"It is same in real-life. A well-trained, pro-soldier is the one who can control his emotions, deal with frustration and focus on the task at hand. Cursing left and right doesnt make you anything more than a good target.
"

Don't tell me that servicemen don't cuss when under fire...

Granted, I'm not all for bad language on the internet, but the above quotation is just a complete fallacy.

The TG members, for the most part, seem like the type of people called armchair infantry. They are those who think they know oh so much about military tactics when most of them have probably never seen a battlefield in their life, much less fired an assault rifle. They are the types that think that all military knowledge can be held by watching the Military Channel. I will admit though, I am making generalizations, and I could be wrong.

I would love to be able to enjoy playing on TG, but as of present, I just can't...

TG, was my favorite server to play PR, till I couldn't get in cause of their kicking or ban system, I couldn't even get in their server till they moved to the Beta..

My guess is that you were really kicked for disrespecting other players. Often times an admin uses the same kick message for language and respect. This is probably something we can work on to break that down into two separate messages so the player has a better understanding of the reason.

In your particular case, you should have tried to contact an admin. We have a list on tactical gamer of different in-game and out-of-game methods for contacting an admin. Check it out so that next time you'll be able to get our attention quicker and we can deal with the problem player.

Unfortunately we can't always "see" those problem players through chat. Language (or disrespectful language terms) will usually play a sound, at least on my BF2CC monitor, so those things are easier to catch.
Second, I was kicked for "not following CO orders", when I was never even issued any orders! Come on, give me a break...
My guess is that a player on our teamspeak server (which anyone can join) brought you up for not following orders. This can happen frequently if there is a communication breakdown with a player not having VoIP or missing the chat as it scrolls by so fast.

We actually have a lot of active and retired servicemen within TG, along with police officers and the like. We often times solicit their input when creating our SOPs, tactics, etc.
I would love to be able to enjoy playing on TG, but as of present, I just can't...
We also have listed in the TG forums the process for requesting an unban. It's not difficult and we're usually pretty easy going when it comes to second chances. Give it a shot and we'll see you back on the server.

You're most likely getting kicked by our automated custom reserved slot system. It's not perfect, but it suits TG's needs better than the built-in system. Check out the stickies at the TG project reality forums. Those will describe why you receive the kick/ban messages.

Back when I was 13, my father banned any game that featured any expressions that would merit a higher than PG rating. Films were different, although the only reason I was given was "Because."

If I were in that place now, playing PR online and loving it, my dad would forbid me from playing anything like it, and I'd be another frothing-at-the-mouth restraintist. But it didn't happen that way, and I'm not.

.....On the other hand, I fail to see the logic behind expecting reason on subjects like these from an fellow who likes to be called "Armed, Drunk & Angry"......

May the mods close this thread.

And oS2007 .... that indicates that you a mental giant ?
It's a screen name, for Friday nights, not a way of life or code I live by.
They have the ultimate right to run their server anyway they like.
If they want every sentence typed in game to end in " As God Wills It " they have the right to do so.
I simply don't agree and find more than a few of their reasons to be less than complete or true.

Can you cite for me,0S007, where I lack reason ?
Can you show me where logic was even brought into the discussion ?
Or are you yet another who thinks he's clever and wants to pile on ?

I don't support or condone blatant player abuse, lone wolfing, single occupant tanks/helo's or transports.
Neither do I support unlimited use of swear words but then again.... I have a screenname that has drunk in it so of course by your Manichean logic my opinions have no value, if I understand your ad hominem attack correctly.

"Would a plane on a treadmill take off?"
I remember that thread and the answer was yes, because the thrust is generated by the engines, not the wheels. ;)

My question is "Can a fish drown?".

Depends on the fish. I know "most" sharks would drown if they do not have forward movement. (Then, we have the sharks that hide in caves and sleeps lying perfectly still, but ... I said "most".) No forward movement, the guils dont produce oxygen

Or something like that. It's about 3 years since I saw this on Discovery or NG, so my recollection is fuzzy.

Back on topic. Since the thread started about unmotivated kicks, one should end it on that note. Do as I do: Cuss, swear, call them boys, impotent and have no backbone. And as the clock ticks down, you press PAGE UP and politely write ingame: No worries M8, could happen to anyone.

That way I went off some steam, don't insult anybody and still follow gentlemans agreement in PR.

I think if for some reason or another the water had no oxygen in it the fish would drown and that's why fish tanks have those aerator things.
But I don't care for any pets I can't play with so I know little or nothing about fish.
BTW..... after several page long PM arguments on the treadmill thing I changed my mind and agreed with the common logic that it would take off.

That only leaves the question of why we drive on parkways and park on driveways.

Oh man ... don't do this ... Don't make me do research and figure this thing out. (cusses in private, but leaves polite response in forum (see how that works?)) But, then again - reading never got anybody killed? Or has it?

Depends ... do you mean does our avatars take over our real life, or are we just all part of the matrix? In that case, I vote for beeing agent Smith.
