I have to get my say in. My experience with TG has been unpleasant, to say the least.
I must say, though, that asch seems to be the only admin over there with a level head. As others have said, he is the only one that doesn't act like a complete pretentious goon.
With that said, I was kicked twice within five minutes for two utterly ridiculous things yesterday. Anyone who plays with me, however, knows I'm a stickler for playing by the rules.
First, I was kicked because of "language" for saying, "Stop killing civilians, moron". There was one particular player who consistently kept killing civilians on purpose. I nicely asked him to stop, to no avail. Then, after he killed a few more, I made a remark to him demanding him to stop, rightfully addressing him as moron. I wasn't cussing him by saying "Stop f***ing killing the damn civilians, you stupid motherf***er". Now if I had said that, I could understand why I had been kicked.
I just find it funny that I get kicked for something so minute, yet the player who was truly disrupting gameplay remains (not to mention, since when has "moron" become bad language?)...
Second, I was kicked for "not following CO orders", when I was never even issued any orders! Come on, give me a break...
And no, I couldn't have run to another server if I didn't like it, considering at the time that TG .6 was the only highly populated server.
I also found this highly amusing, as said from a TG admin:
"
It is same in real-life. A well-trained, pro-soldier is the one who can control his emotions, deal with frustration and focus on the task at hand. Cursing left and right doesnt make you anything more than a good target.
"
Don't tell me that servicemen don't cuss when under fire...
Granted, I'm not all for bad language on the internet, but the above quotation is just a complete fallacy.
The TG members, for the most part, seem like the type of people called
armchair infantry. They are those who think they know oh so much about military tactics when most of them have probably never seen a battlefield in their life, much less fired an assault rifle. They are the types that think that all military knowledge can be held by watching the Military Channel. I will admit though, I am making generalizations, and I could be wrong.
I would love to be able to enjoy playing on TG, but as of present, I just can't...
