L86....must you be so ridiculous!?

Ahh, I am afraid that you misunderstood...

You posted a reskin for the l85 (main brit assault rifle, which looks awesome) whereas what is wanted is a reskin for the l86 (brit marksman rifle, which looks awful).

Now I see the problem.

Ohh, ok. Marksman rifle.
I didn't know what to do with that standard rifle... so i made it dirtier.

And katarn, i don't think i can rename my own threads, can you do it?

Why exactly is the Light Support Version of the L85 being used as a marksman's rifle anyway? Seems really weird to me. It's like giving someone a MG36 and saying, "here ya go, you're a DM now."

IRL it was used as a combination of a marksman and Light Machine Gun, it was generally an all - round support weapon until it was replaced in the support area by the Minimi. It was the only sensible option for the PR devs of a semi-automatic accurised rifle used by the british army.

L86A1 failed as an LSW ( replaced with FN minimi very quick because of inabilityto give suppresing fire with it's 30/rds mags and low rate of fire ) so it is used now as a DMR due to a longer and heavier barrel then L85A2 .
Not sure , but I've heared that L85A2 is accurate at ranges up to 500m , whereas L86A1 can place accurate shots at ranges up to 800-900m .

Thats why it is British DMR in the mod .

l85a2 is accurate up to 600m

and yer the l86 is around 800-900
