I know what the pentatonic scale is. However, Communist Chinese music does not use that scale, it's just synchronized to fit Chinese 1 syllable words.

If you are looking for good losing music for Poland check out this one:
YouTube - Rota
This is very old song (times of Teutonic order invading Poland), but its very patriotic and very beautiful. Almost everyone in poland know this song.
You could could use this song in PR without lyrics of course.
BTW im new on forum, hi everyone

Is this correct?

Copyright works on a basis of 70 years
You're only right in part. The performance copyright still applies and legally (at least in the UK) you have to pay. You could maybe get away with it on the basis that PR is free or for sure with consent from the owner of the copyright.

I think playing entire anthems is a bit too much to be honest. Changing up the music might be good but I prefer where it's at now to what's been suggested.

Yes Indeed... I'm a true music fan and I find that if I don't listen to God Save the Queen at least 3 times A day...I just can't sleep at night.
No other anthem can match the magnificent pomposity and Imperial splendor It conjures!!!
God I miss the Empire.

The US Navy Band version of the Chinese national anthem is much better than the one posted before. No strings, but it's a lot more crisp, and ironically sounds more patriotic than the other recording.

Remind: we are talking about:
YouTube - Rota
Its old, but stil playing in polish army's events very often. I think it fit very good as polish losing song. (try to listen from 0:47 to 1:05 or 1:31-1:50)It's short, it's polish, its sad, and it is typical military song And i say again, without lyrics, just music.
Or if you dont want that song try this:
YouTube - My,pierwsza brygada!!!Strzelecka gromada!!!
But its not that sad as first one.
Oh imagine that situation: you are playing as canadian. The battle is very even, victory is not sure for anyone. But in last moments canadian forces pushes enemy back! Victory! That was an epic battle!
End of the round, and the anthem is playing in this version:
YouTube - O Canada (one minute rock version by The DuBay Band!)
That would be funny
