'[R-CON wrote:AfterDune;504093']Arjan, [scrambled] is NOT possible. Many attempts have been made, but it's just not possible. What you saw is most probably a trick to fool you or not BF2. A hook is just another "vehicle" and as everyone knows, BF2 vehicles CAN'T get along with each other.
actually. it might be possible. i have a quote someware on the bss forums that satnav said, and it in fact might be do able. will look into 2marro. its late and im tired

*Kneels down and prays that the answer is no. Knowing what havoc and teachery it will reek upon the forums, as well as "over-watchers" of Blackhawk Down throughout the forums.

If anyone could do it, it would be satnav.

I think A-10 might be leading us on though.

I was underthe impression that everything is possible it just depends on wether the time that it would take to figure out how to do it would be worth it. I am confident that the coders could find a way to allow get more passengers and.... use fast ropes. I was wondering is it possible to set up water landings for the 47? ever seen that? check out some 47 videos on U Tube they have a boat driving right up into the back of a 47! it's AWESOME!

Hey I thought of the same thing. I think that you can drive the boat to the drop gate of the helo and have your squad just jump out of the boat and onto the drop gate. But you may have to swim a lil bit.
I honestly think that it's a really great idea. But i also think it's too risky for any real game play. But it would make a killer PR video shot.

I gladly am putting it out there that if anyone wants to fraps this i will participate and obey orders as long as possible and as accurately as possible to get this shot.

so they are going to make a chinook for 0.7? if they are, yeah ropes would be sweet but it would be hard to fit that into the game engine and even if they did it would be too hard for some computers to run but i really hope they do make one...

about the fast roping, why cant they try to merge the grapling hooks little hange the rope over the edge of a surface and let it drop down thing with the chinooks already great idea im sure its possible i mean i hope it is (im just really wanting to be able to fast rope donw off a transport helo )

Huh? Fastroping itself is not too hard for some computers. It's PR that takes the resources ;) .

And.. to be honest, fastroping would look cool, but wouldn't be any advantage in most situations. The chopper's blades just slice through buildings, etc. But let's not go there. I agree it would look cool, especially in videos, but that's about it..

i think it IS an advantage because landing in pr takes some time and during that time everybody in the chopper and the chopper itself is very vulnerable...when you are like 10 metres up you dont have to land and could just drop the ropes , set off you teammates and in reality (im not sure if pr cotains this a blackhawk is armoured at the bottom so that a rpg cant do any harm on it....if it doesnt hit the rotors where we would be at BHD again....
