1 km map: that's the same as OGT, right? I'd say that OGT is plenty big enough to support having an AH-6.

I see your point Wasteland, but mine is that MH/AH6s are used by a single aviation regiment in the entire US Armed Forces. They have about 30-40 of them I'd estimate and they would never be used on something like a conventional assault where regular helos are fine.

If the Marines are going to be in this map it'd be nice if they get lav's or aav's since there won't be any tanks. Its just a suggestion ;)

Yeah, that's true. It probably wouldn't be used for a full conventional assault. But Mogadishu (hahaha, I know) AH-6s were used because it was believed that a gunship was too powerful a show of force. Depending on what stage of the Fallujah operation this map represents, couldn't that also be the case here?

That argument is really just to satisfy the reality-philes.

I'm much more interested in fun, tactical, realistic gameplay to be honest. I think that having something small like an AH-6 would be nice because it keeps out the WTFPWNXx0rxx1337 types who seem to love cobras, and because it keeps the cobra (or apache for that matter) from being able to rape the enemy too hard. I think gunships are kind of overkill on unconventional maps without significant tree cover.

i personally wish there were still tanks in this map since it's nice and closed in but /sigh.... APCs just die too fast even with infantry support. they're just a target for some trigger happy RPG gunner.

We could always find another light gunship for the Marines... No idea what that'd be tho...

But yeah I get your point. Though Mogadishu is because all transport was via the 160th and all units were SOCOM Whereas the Army/Marines would use regular Aviation units

ye, when APCs are used in the correct way they are by far one of the most deadly weapons in a urban envorimant, + also very effective outside urban areas too :D

Tis just knowing how to make infatry and apc work together effectively thats the key ;) its more than just a taxi with a gun.

Do these new maps mean we'll have more elaborate buildings in 0.7? keep looking at unopenable doors and wishing I could hide in there, house clearing could be a lot more interesting too. I see you mentioned lotsa breachable entrances etc. does that mean this too?

I'd love to see the UH-1N on that map. It could be used as a gunship too?

I can tell you that the map has a 70% chance of being the US Army when its done as there will be a grater need for US Army maps than USMC when the US Army is done.

Which ever team it is, it will most likely be the team that needs more maps. end of discussion.

I very much doubt there will be any choppers on this map, for your urban chopper combat you will have to look out for muttrah ;)

Probably USMC, as US Army will be used for larger combined armed battles.

Thisl be simple, usmc vs insurgents, maybe a couple humvees thats it.

Like rhino said, muutrah will be for the cool flying down the streets and stuff. Not this.

what will be the range of the M4?

You can't have 2 factions on the same team, Soucy, plus the Devs are dividing the US Army and Marines. Just make another Insurgency map with US Army and keep this one with Marines.
