Are you trying to say that there are no Polish troops in Afghanistan or Iraq?
BTW. There are also couple other countries where you can find Polish soldiers (UN missions).

google wrote:I am belgian and when I play project reality I also think it would be cool to play as a belgian soldier.
However!, there is no point of having a dutch or belgian army because neither are in any major conflicts or play a big role in politics. (i don't really see the point of Polish forces) Australians and canadians are involved in conflicts in the middle east (even germany has some troops in north afghanistan).
So basically, doing this is simply unrealistic.
wait...what Mr.Wikipedia? what did you say?
Polish Armed Forces took part in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, deploying 2,500 soldiers in the south of that country and commanding the 17-nation Multinational force in Iraq. In addition to this, Polish soldiers are currently deployed in five separate UN Peacekeeping Operations (UNDOF, UNIFIL, SFOR, AFOR and KFOR) with a total of approximately 2,200 troops, on top of the 1,500 soldiers remaining in southern Iraq. Total international deployment of Polish military is 3,727 troops.
Current deployment (2006):
* Iraq: Operation Iraqi Freedom – 900 soldiers
* Afghanistan: NATO-led force – 1,600 soldiers
* Lebanon: UN Interim Force (PMC/UNIFIL) – 632 soldiers
* Golan Heights, Syria: UN Disengagement and Observation Force (PMC/UNDOF) – 355 soldiers
* Balkans: Stabilization Force (PMU/SFOR) – 600 soldiers
* Democratic Republic of the Congo:Stabilization Force (PMU/KFOR) 172 soldiers
* Chad: 600 troops pleged under the EU peace force

Google-guy, there are a bunch of Dutch Forces in Afghanistan as well, in Uruzgan Province. They have fought some heavy battles there!
I don't think there should be another faction, now that so many are already being developed, but it would be a very realistic setting of course! But they should only Insurgency-maps, when it comes to Afghanistan.

Ever heard of the NATO, UN or ISAF?
Each country has to offer troops for the global peace! Do you even read newspapers, google?

Shouldn't we combine all our army-types? Mariniers, commando's.. lichte infanterie.. (Landmacht/Marine/Luchtmacht) so we are not just with one type of brigade,.. We maybe can give each army-part their own map?
And I'd rather drive a leopard than a YPR-765 CO / Or Abrams M1..
The YPR-765 CO can be a kind of APC and the Patria XA 188 like a IFV ?
We've got the abrams in other maps.. and do we really use them? never knew that :/
If some guys start with making all the vehicles and stuff.. I will start making maps,.. in naam van Oranje! (dan lijkt het me ook best wel mooi om een map te maken met iets maritiems.. We hebben tenslotte toch een zeer goede marine..)
anyway, I would like to help with making maps.. Like I said a thousand times before.
Leve de Koningin!
Well. We should start somewhere. I suggest we create first the LMB Brigade since we need for that only some jeeps, apache & chinooks. (That is the very basic, i know) After that we can always add more to the dutch army such as the Leopard, the new upcoming CV90 & a lot of other stuff. We don't have to begin at the LMB ofcourse. I am just saying that we have to start first with just a part of the army & then we can get the next one.
EDIT: I really don't know what the marines have in the dutch army. But the only thing what we have now is the boats. What do the marines have of the dutch army what is also currently ingame?

Please consider how the faction could contribute to PR, gameplay-wise, etc. It's not about the coolness, because then you could add all the nations in the world, since there's always someone who'll find it cool.
What kind of gamemode suits the faction best? If you're gonna focus on Afghanistan, it's probably Insurgency. There aren't many Insurgency maps, so those are welcome, but you don't need to make an entire new faction if you only want more Insurgency maps.
Or would a whole new gamemode be better for them? If that's the case, think of a new gamemode and how that would add to PR. And if that's approved, you can build your faction and focus on that new gamemode and Insurgency.
So before you do anything, consider the above. If you don't, it will just be a "copy" of an already existing faction.

Thanks Afterdune,
Yes insurgency probably looks best. As we train the ANA and talk to afghani's and search through Qala's for IED's and makers of them.
And yes i really believe the dutch should be in for a couple of reasons;
1. We train the ANA.
2. We teach the other army's how to handle afghan civilians.
3. Our airforce currently has quite the big-role in afghanistan.
4. We are/have been in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and those are only a few examples.
5. It's a refreshing faction, in my eyes.
6. However, i think we in someway add parachutes to some certain kits to realise the 11th AMB.

First, I'm not trying to be a **** or negative, I just want you all to think about what you're getting yourself into and if you continue, make it a hell of a faction

How do you want to make this visible in PR? We do so in real life, but we don't in a game.

How to implement this in PR and keep the balance?
Celica` wrote:4. We are/have been in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and those are only a few examples.
True. But doesn't matter for PR.
Celica` wrote:5. It's a refreshing faction, in my eyes.
If we can add something unique to PR, oh yes

.
Celica` wrote:6. However, i think we in someway add parachutes to some certain kits to realise the 11th AMB.
PR holds numerous kits. None of the maps contain the kits that include a parachute though. But they're still there, so if you make a "para map", you can add 'em (if you make 'em for your faction).
Ask yourself the question how you would implement a reallife thing into PR, if it matters, if it needs changing, etc.
Again, I'm not trying to be negative, not at all, although I realize I may sound like that. I'm a nice guy really

On the First & Seconed point:
We could create a kit that is called ANA. Just a basic AK rifle-man guy who can only be in jeeps (not in chopper, planes and armory). If you get killed you don't loose a ticket.
Kit would include:
-AK
-1 Grenade
-Bandage x2
On the Third Point
We could have a large numbers of transport helicopters. If we get the attack helicopters the insurgants should get a lot of RPG's & some form of anti-air kit.
On the the fifth point.
On the contrairy. We can play against the militia too. However you are right in this point too. You can make a new gameplay for this too. Maybe the dutch can take out the militia leader & you win the game (or you do this 5 times).
On the point six
I see dutch more as specialist army as a big supper killing army like america.
-----
I do see a refreshing new gameplay for the dutch faction:
Dutch type of insurgant (don't know a name for this)
- You get -1 ticket if you kill a civilian (since Dutch army is mainly peacekeeping)
- If you are a ANA within the dutch army & you get killed there is no ticket lose.
- Insurgants whould be able to cap a control point. Therefor they will get ticket bleed. (to prevent that all people will go ANA)
- Instead of catches we could use something else that would help civilians in RL too. Maybe bringing food? Gather intel? Or maybe a mix of catches and helping civilians out.
- Since the dutch army isn't using tanks or powerfull apc's we mainly use the transport choppers and jeeps.
- Insurgants wont get suicide cars/trucks and small number of technicals just because it needs to be balanced (this is also realistic because in a battle you don't see just cars&trucks driving into the troops!)
Edit: New idea:
- Maybe we should get 5 chinooks or something. But the funny thing is if they get destroyed they won't spawn back. Why? Well, dutch army is small & if a chopper gets shot down that will be a big hit. Dutch army is more carefull with their assets then the americans just because of the share size.
(btw, no spawning is not good either, but a large spawn time of 30min should be nice)

I want to make a holland vs. Militia map..
If you like..
and I want to create a map with a lot of water.. and small islands where the dutch marines (oh i just love our marines..) have to hold the area while the OPFOR (Which forces?) have to defend rivers, beaches etc.
What about that idea?
Maybe those two maps can fill a whole story line,.. > dutch hmarines have to secure the coast of (countryname) while the airforces (in the other map) have to take over a hilly landscape..
To help the Brit's in their fight against the militia's..

another question, shoudent you replace the YPR whit the boxer or CV90's? Caus PR is a bit in the future and the YPR APC's arent going to be there in about 2 to 4 years if im correct?

Guys. Please check page 7
R-Con gave a explaination how we could make the dutch faction "special".
Please read the convo of me, him and Celica'.
If we can create a new gamemode that mainly the dutch can use than it is usefull to create the dutch. If we are just going to create an other faction is not right. We need to add something really new before we get support from the rest of the community.
First we need to:
- How do we get the dutch in the game & make them special (New gamemode)
- After that we can look at the details of the assets & weapons that we will use.

so,
if you would make a game type, where 1 or more trucks need to go to curten villages? and need to stay there for a while? A sort of: king of the hill/cache hunting/VIP idea? the dutch spawn on the truck. the insurgents spawn some where around.
think of this little scenario.
There are 3 villages. the dutch have 3 trucks that respawn after they are destroyed. the truck is a spawn point and carries aid. There will also be some spawn points at the Dutch base. to get in the Vehicles/light armor.
they Dutch have to move the trucks inside perimeters ( flag cap area?) and defend them for say 10 minuts or more? in the main time the insurgents try to take them out. spawning all over the map trying to ambysh convoys and ofcourse destroy the trucks. when the time runs out and none of the villages have a truck in it the insurgents win. if the dutch manage to hold the 3 villages whit the trucks in the perimiter. they win.
just my 0.50 cents.
btw: counter attack mode on chora. and i think the insurgent class needs to be changed a little. ( caus of the fact that some ANA or ANP defect some times.)
