Community mods will be added to Pr when they are finished.

Id be more than happy to offer up my WIP map - its based on APC's and helis anyway - though I agree that a separate mod is not the best idea as it would either get no players or too many players! As a game mode it would be great though.

I think it doesnt really need to be a mini-mod, just a couple of maps, which are community built, which incorporate more Airborne approaches, and you could have the faction called, for example, British Paras, or even just call them British and give the riflemen parachutes

Have two paratrooper forces ever actually dropped into the same battlefield and fought? I always thought one force dropped in and the other force remained on solid ground - as in, I thought there was a solid line between offense and defense in paratrooper combat.

I dunno about both jumpin in, I remember reading in band of brothers that easy company did indeed engage their opposite number's of the German army.

True - also very short flight to the battlefield. Other problem is suitable drop a/c. Be great just to have one team as paras - say British jumping from a C130, but then everyone would want to be on that team. Suppose if the chinook ever gets completed, could jump from that.

Those Fallschirmjäger units were being used a infantry, the last major air drop used by the Nazis were in Crete in 1941 I believe. During the Battle of Normandy they were just acting as light infantry.

I have a feeling that wally has dropped this to work with the ADF mod or personal stuff or somthing, just going on his lack of posting on this thread.
Either that, or he's preparing a big surprise.

Id be willing to put some work in on it - not sure whats needed though and coding isnt really my thing. Rhino offered up muttrah and Im working on a 4km map which Im sure will be high quality when its finished, so possibly 2 maps there. Who needs to Ok these things, and what would be needed? Id rather see it as a minimod to gauge interest at first and then possibly it could become a game mode in PR.

Well this doesn't seem to be much, I guess I'll work on this airborne minimod, all you gotta do is change up the map layout, loadout, and add that para thing in the init?
I know someone did this awhile back but all it did was CTD you, and mess up your PR...

Wouldnt we need a re model of the parachutes, as the ones in PR you can turn cos they rectangular, but AFAIK, Paras etc use circular drop ones, so you go where you jump essentially...

Instead of a mini-mod it should be a gameplay choice like insurgency or training.
