The main reason they wouldn't be able to do a MEC-Iranian switch over is that all the voice-overs are in Arabic and the soldiers skin tone isn't that of a typical Persian (from what I've heard in this thread).

Voice overs are a pretty big task as far as I'm aware and and the MEC models are DICE ones I think so they can't be messed round with so you'd have to model, skin etc a whole new set of soldiers. Maybe after some of the community mods have been mostly done, other then cool little updates every now and again, then there might be some focus on individual middle eastern armies. With the increase of community mods there are more models floating about that several armies use so it should become progressively easier to include more armies hopefully.

This thread is like a great big epic cycle of fail.

"MEC should be Iran" -> "MEC aren't Persians" -> "Who cares, it's fictional" -> "Persians and Arabs don't get along" -> Okay, so let's have an Arabic nation as MEC" -> "I suggest Country X" -> "No, Iran would be better" -> "Iran is Persian, MEC is Arabic" -> ??? -> Profit!
