'[uBp wrote:Irish;646150']when someone regularly would rather choose to be a pilot, spec ops, auto rifleman, marksman, or sniper over having to use the g3.. something is wrong.
I get one of those in EVERY faction I play :/

The only factions I can think of where that doesn't happen are the Brits (the marksman kit is not quite as popular) and Malitia (where they have nothing to pilot)

WHY THE HELL DO YOU WANT JUST THE AK? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
i DONT want ONLY aks for the MEC , but a mix of them ( aks and g3s for diferent maps representing diferent places ) since i KNOW that the devs will not remove the g3 even when its completaly unrealistic to have them .

Well, it's not unrealistic for them to have G3s. But I do think, proportionally, the AK is far underplayed/under present. Just the shear numbers of them in that area would make them present on almost every battlefield.

i am alot more comfortable with an m16a4, sa80, ak47, and qbz series, than i am with having to play mec... Seriously, the g3 is a joke and i'm stunned that the devs havent said more about it.

The G3 rocks your socks sideways.

Can't we give them some other HK weapon, like the HK33A2, for some kits? Maybe we could use the old vBF2 unlock tabs for switching weapons...
As an extension of that, why can't we choose whether the kit is deployed with scopes by pressing the old weapon switch button?

No, that's been talked about for ages.

I think the HK33 or whatever that carbine MP5 is, use that for the standard rifle

Eh, maybe. The US Army wouldn't be the only faction issuing carbines as their main arm, then.

th HK33 would be a G3 with 5.56mm, the HK53, which is ingame, is the compact carabine variant of this, so a HK33 would be full size rifle.
(there is also a HK33KA, which is between the HK33 and the HK53 (KA for Karabiner, german for carabine)

Ah, that's the one I was thinking of, then.

and the only weapon i think the devs could consider as addition to the G3
HK33
HK33KAE3

How different is a HK33 to a G3A3 visually? Couldn't one just use the G3A3 model and call it a HK33?...
Unlock system! (Jonny's idea)

Right! The unlock system would be awesome to add some more weapons. Fore example I believe that the insurgents got quite more different weapons (of course older ones from the black market) which you could choose ingame. Maybe even some submachineguns or something like that for closer combat (actually don't really know what small arms they're using). Would be awesome, that's sure. Always running around with AK's is a bit boring. This could be also included for some other factions (milita) which don't really have an official primary weapon if you know what I mean (they can choose/buy everything affordable on the black market IRL, and there aren't just AK's!).
So how about including a Scorpion SMG for closer combat?
Sorry, if this is a bit off-topic. But this idea has just fascinated me.
Of course this would be great for the MEC too!

@ [R-CON]nedlands1: the mag is curved, and the barrel sligtly thinner.
@ darkNight: NO, 1. the devs are giving the MEC only european weapons
2. this thing would be quite useless as primary weapon

Also shorter if my source is correct. I was thinking...
The USMC uses two calibres for their rifles. 7.62x51mm NATO for the M14 and 5.56x45mm NATO for the M16/M4/SAW variants. Why can't the MEC use two too? 7.62x51mm NATO for the G3 variants (including the marksmen rifle which I assume will become an accurised G3A3) and HK21E and 5.56x45mm NATO for an alternate rifleman kit?

The Militia officer kit has the skorpion in place of a sidearm. I had it today.
