The thing i really like about ABR, is the ability so sort the new guys from the ones who have played for a while. Atleast on unfamiliar servers. Makes it a bit easier to organize the squad.

i vote no because ppl would sit in a tank whle they go and have a snack n' wank so theyll get more tank time. just like most of the people in vanilla. plus they would try to get the best rank and go rambo all the time wich is not what pr is about. people would do stupid shit to make their rank go up. i am totally against it.

What about Commander-Appointed Promotions?
They choose whether players deserve points/promotions, and can demote players "Is Private ****** performing well?". Same for Commander being promoted with a vote by players "Is Commander ***** doing well?" Enough yesses, and he get's his points.
I dunno. It was just a random idea that came to me after I voted "Yes"

Re: Player stats - PR rankings
I like the idea of stats, And I LOVE the idea of Commander or peer appointed points. But I enjoy the fact that everyone is seen as equals (sort of).
Being null and void of stats/rankings makes sure that everyones E-Peen is the same size at the start of the match. I would not complain if the [R-XXX]'s removed the Kills and Deaths counters from the game completely and merged it all into 'Teamwork' since this is what the mod is all about.
While I don't enjoy seeing my name near the bottom of the list, And like it when its up the top...I still wouldn't mind having it all removed. Just build it all into 'Teamwork' and have this type of ranking system spread across ALL servers.
Since for the stat carvers this would make them strive to be the best (thus increasing teamwork alot) and the average players will still have a little number next to there name showing the size of their 'Teamwork E-Peen' (the best E-Peen).
My few cents

i play mods for teamplay, and get away from the karkand kiddies
stats are useless for me, only at the end of the round.
and dont think a mrs/abr ranked PR brings more player, it isnt so.

When ever I see a Ranked server in the list its ALWAYS full, even the big/well known servers are empty or bloody close to it.SWIZZ=kettcar= wrote:i play mods for teamplay, and get away from the karkand kiddies

Just one server with the word 'Ranked' in its name at its 64/64 people, while T&T, Big D, Battle Arena and TG are empty...or people are playing there due to the ranked server being full.
I agree with have ranks is a gloatfest, but it might help bring more people...But I do agree with davetboy_19's suggestion of 'teamwork' rankings instead of K/D rankings

Re: Player stats - PR rankings
Ranks encourage higher ranks to think they are "1337" and not work with the squad. I'm not saying this would happen all the time, but I dare say people would brag about ranks.

Stats... no thanks. PR don't need them and never has. Ranks are just another way for the angry people to mouth off in servers claiming superior skills, in a video game to boot. Too funny.

the stats should be more based on squads, but that brings be to integrating a perm squad system where its like a clan but a max of 12 members so you dont have too many members..... damn it i have way to many ideas and i cant type all of them because i would be here all day.plus the bf2 engine can only take so much but thats why i think that the pr dev team could make their own game.

I would be all for ranks and awards, as long as they are NOT based primarily on kills. You should get medals primarily for tasks like capturing flags, winning battles, keeping assets alive, following SL orders, etc. You know, basically tasks that involve working together as a team and supporting the guys around you. There should be no 1337 individuals, only 1337 squads and teams. Possibly there could be medals for destroying heavy assets like armor, but not for sniping or killing enemy soldiers.

Re: Player stats - PR rankings
Why bother really? Isn't there already enough willy waving in the games world without adding stats to Pr?
Most servers have a stats page on gametracker or something like that anyway. So if your a regular user of a server then you can easily find out your standing on there at least just not globally.
Would add that this is not a great poll because none of the options is a clear no answer.

Re: Player stats - PR rankings
I think I could even learn to deal with no scoreboard full stop, convert it to simply a player board so you know who's there.
Played a kick arse game of Jabal last night as USMC and got the MEC back to main base, and my squad did really really well, when the round was over there was no score (which I kinda arrogantly thought I would be on the top of cos we did do alot of damage and I was leading which also gets you a few undue points alot of the time), but to be honest I didn't really care, and I just thought "wow what a good round, we did pretty bloody well".
Left me reflecting on the whole round, not just stupid little things that got me a good score, or how many of the people my squad shot at I killed personally.

Ooooh I think this is a great idea, it will really help to filter out all of the noobs when your trying to put together a squad. As commander, assigning squads to perform certain roles based on skill level will be alot easier. If you already know that they are **** ups you wont have to watch them mess up something strategically important. Finally yes, This will give braging rights to people, people should feel free to brag about how good they are when ever they want.
