\objects\Effects\weapons\e_smallmissile_trail_black\e_smallmissile_trail_black.tweak
is the file you need and is loaded/used by the hellfire.

The terrain is lowered and raised accordingly to create rivers, ponds, etc. with the BF2 Editor. The altimeter doesn't keep track of altitude from ground level, but from the map's sea level. (Test this by flying around on Jabal or Oman WAC.)
Yes, I'm aware.

Ah, the hellfire I know. The Hydra rocket is the only one I can´t find.

The tweak file says dumbrocket, but I have tested a couple of things and it looks like the hydra uses averagemissile. Anyway, I will test it ingame in a second. I have edited the AA missiles to look like in this video. Im not sure on the realism, but it does look awesome.

By the way Alex, doing a great job with getting the desired dust effect to occur over the proper terrain with those helicopters. I was under the impression that someone was going to go overkill on the dust effect to the point where you can't even see what you're doing. (Just like the videos presented in YouTube where you couldn't even see the helicopter itself.)
As long as the dust effect remains transparent to still facilitate visibility in good measure it will certainly be acceptable and would be a great addition to PR. You have my appreciation and support, well done.
All I urge you to do is to see if the helicopters at thier respective main base starting points don't kick up too much dust. Would be alittle silly to see dust all over the place if a helicopter is idling at main base, like Kashan Desert on the helipad for example. Also be careful of the helipads on the Al Basrah Insurgency map, for some reason the helipads appear to be sitting on a dirt patch on the runway/taxiway itself. (You'll notice a very slight amount of sand present around the perimeter of the helipad's on Al Basrah's airport where the HC3 Merlin generally is located.)

the effect it is using is the "e_dumbrocket_trail", which you will need to drag out of bf2's object_server.zip, shove it into your pr_edit, edit it, then pack it into your pr_edit's object_server.zip, you can find the effect here:
\objects\Effects\weapons\trails\e_dumbrocket_trail\

I did try that though, and nothing changed. And I swear 100% that PRs hydras are different from vBF2. Anyway, just going to test now.
@Warren, yes, you can still see nicely through the dust. I didn´t want it to be too much and lag everyone out. But it can be upped a bit more if needed.

in fact you may be right, just checked the apache .tweak and it has this in it.
ObjectTemplate.addTemplate e_smallmissile_trail
it appears to in fact have new hydra code built into it, it just loads the geom of the vbf2 hydra hehe.

That makes sense, seeing as the heelfire is smallmissile_trail_black. Will try that now.

AA missile, done basiclly looking like the video posted earlier. Not sure if it is that realistic in every stiuation, but I like the look of it better than the standard one.
Hydra very WIP. I have edited it more now, and will see how it comes out.
Not very visible as you can see.
Trying to get it somewhat like this:

On the dust effect when landing? Yeah it is possible, but does it need such a delay?

Here are some good videos that show off what tanks look like at high speed for dust kick back:
Challanger tank shooting and on the move:
YouTube - British Challenger 2 Tank
Note: It also has perfict shots for good tank shell hit effects that would make our game look great if we came up with some that looked the same. Also great music........
This video has a perfect shot of how the fire from the tanks shell should shoot out as the shell leaves the tank:
YouTube - M1A2 Abrams Tank in action with music
Mote: Part way it shows what I'm talking about with the delay death, and the sparks, as well as the color. If we can get this kind of stuff in our mod we can make PR into the most realistic mod on the planet.

Right, this is what I have come up with until now. I won´t be able to do any more for a day or to due to exams, but I will see what I can do. This is quite fun.
Notes:
-The sand dust effect I am not sure what to change more, depends what people think.
-The AA missile. Maybe needs editing? I like the look but I would like your opinions. Shoud be greyer? Maybe less flame? It hasn´t really been edited much, just is a different effect.
On the AA vehicle, yes I think the backblast needs changing of maybe colour/size.
-The hydras. Not got these right yet. May have an idea to improve them, will have to try that out. Also, what is the effect used for the backblast of the hydra/hellfire launcher? I couldn´t find what I was looking for.
Criticism welcome, need to know if these look right or not. AA missile reference are a couple of videos and "lock on"
YouTube - Effects.
Maybe wait for higher quality.
For the tanks, I will have a look when I get a another chance.

very nice
Just a quick tip, you can press "q" when viewing a demo to get rid of the courser and you can also do the command "renderer.drawhud 0" to get rid of the HUD and if you run the demo in the debugger you can also do "renderer.drawnametags 0" to get rid of player names
As for the AAV, how come you could fire 4 missiles? did you edit the code? I thought it only has 2 pods?
anyways ye, the AA back blast was cool, but a little too big.
AA missiles looked good, maybe lased for a little too long and maybe 2 dence.
hydra missiles where maybe a little too black? thou I'm probaly just use to the white ones.
apart from that I think it was all good, keep on going like this and you may make [R-CON]

Wow, the effects are looking great!
The technical term is rotor wash, I believe. I think while the effects should be reduced over concrete, they should still be significant, as these are not well manicured suburban streets.
