yer that seems pretty good, although up to dev's etc if they want to see the actual mag, to make it more aesthetically pleasing
most likely not possible, but irl you would look down so you can see your magazine and slot it in, and then release catch sooo up devs if they want it as in 5, or somehow raise the weapon to see the tug and release catch

Im not moving the mouse at all, all movements are done by the animation.

easy now, its just the camera bone rotating. nothing to get too worked up about
@ mora, Yeah, I fixed the fingers for the 5th video, but since this video is a modification of the third video those changes didnt follow.
Ill fix it, hold on.
Btw thats how the chararacter allways holds the rifle, I didnt make it that way, Its just that you cant see it with the current animations.
@ carebear, hold on, Im still not sure which one I should go with, (video 3, 4, 5 or 6) Thats probably up to a dev.
once that is decided I can start fiddling with the finer details, But I could use some help with locating that bolt release catch thingy, as I only have a vague idea of what nob that really is.

its the green button on the back left, the one you used in vid 6 is the magazine release catch
hang on ill get a piccy
atm i think 5, with the head tilt would be the best

Its been done on some custom weapon animations I've seen before, like Satnav's javelin on his idle animation he has the guy take out a map, look at it then look side to side which is pretty cool
not so sure about having your head moving in a reloading animation like that, it could work but then again, not sure would have to do some play testing with it to see if it got annoying or w/e

I think the head moving is sweet

should always visually inspect the top of the mag before putting it into the weapon anyways... but putting your perspective on the weapon a bit more when reloading is a nice little touch, it looks subtle enough that I dont think it will effect you much, need to test...
You realize now, youll have a long list of animations to do right? =)

Like I said, rotating the camera bone is simple, The reason I guess why it aint to common is because it can easily be annoying and if used incorrectly in a walking animation can make the player sick
I still need to know which one I should use, should I keep the forward assist, which carebear said wasent needed.
Should I raise the rifle a small amount while swapping mags or should it stay shouldered?
maybe tilt the rifle to the right while swapping mags?
The diffrent options are all spread out on the last 4 videos.

As a player, I'd say:
-The slight tilt/tip to the right (whichever the MAs feel is more realistic) should be in
-The forward assist probably shouldn't, as if it's not needed for a tactical reload then well, most of our magazine swaps are tactical ones
-The head tilt is excellent, MUCH more immersive and one of the very few things in PR that makes me feel like I'm playing a human rather than some weird-always-rock-steady freak. It's a very natural movement you've put in, it's excellent.
I'm going to assume you've been animating for a while before now, rather than this being your first stab at it?

Definitely the fifth version. I've never seen anyone reloading a weapon without lookin at it and I've never did it myself that way.
Maybe merge the fourth and the fifth version. That would be awesome.

Depends on how long a while is
I started animating 2 and a half weeks ago.
I have so far tweaked the stinger 3p reload animation so that the missile dosent clip into the laucher (it still looks stupid because he handles a 4 feet missile with one hand

), I also redid some of the AT-4 animations, But nothing so far has been this advanced.
