Really, if they wanna make a good patch, they should change some of the limits that could be implimented into VBF2 without causing harm, and still help the modding community. For example, removing the limit of how many people can ride in a single vehicle, or increasing it. Or allow for ropes to be used on vehicles so we can get fast-ropes.

Such minor changes would be easy for them to impliment, wouldn't screw with VBF2, and would help the modding community. Not to mention, if memory serves, they had fast ropes planned for normal BF2 but decided not to put them in as it wouldn't help gameplay, so it COULD be done. Now THAT would be a patch I'd look forward too.

Then they need to develop the bf2 engine further witch takes times, and time is money.

So that wont happen.

Like i said before IF there comes a patch it will only solve vbf2 balance issues and some bugs.
Some sponsored maps maybe some community ones.

Thats all, don't expect too much.

I was playing C&C Zero Hour before, the game had major balance issues, and players made a petition to EA etc. asking for new patch, few months before C&C 3, some guy from EA appeared, he said that he and some team are working on new patch, then he posted some news about patch progress etc, and dissapeared. Then C&C 3 came out, patch was never released.

but ye, I know what you mean but this time they have set a date which is very odd for EA/DICE unless they plan on doing something. You can normally tell when they are talking BS as they dont set any dates, but setting a date is committing to something and they can't back down now.

Yeah if it does happen, which I doubt, I wouldnt expect any major changes/features. They'll save all that stuff to beef up the attention for BF3.

Maybe this is their way of saying apart from bf heroes they will only do bf on consoles in the near future

Bad company will be console only ( and the demo on PS3 is class ) - they havent announced BF3, but if you think any company would have the success they have had with Battlefield, and not release a "3" then your retarded.

Ok, why isn't B-Company BF3? I mean, is there an official statement saying it isn't? Because just because it isn't called "BF3" doesn't mean it isn't. BF Vietnam, BF1942, BF2142, those aren't called "BF#". Not trying to sound rude it's just, they've allready made BF2142, and now they're making B-Company, how many more BF games do they have to make before they call one "BF3"?

Today I tried to play vanilla with a friend and (on 4 different servers) I tried to join but it said that I needed "an unmodified" "latest version" of Battlefield 2.

WTF???

I thought it might be Rising Conflicts that I just installed but I uninstalled it and PR then tried vanilla and it didn't work....so....

DICE have said that BF:BC wont be released on PC and have hinted heavily at BF3, which everyone knows will be announced in the next 12 months.

EA/DICE has specifically announced that Bad Company is console only. There would be no reason for them to announce it BF3.
