No it's not possible to realistically portray big helicopters in PR.
Big aircraft are nice, but I don't see anyone needing a CH-53E to carry an LAV via sling somewhere, so that makes it useless. If PR has an 8 person limit in vehicles, the CH-46E is superior to the MV-22 due to it being able to land in smaller areas. I'll spend to extra time to fly on larger maps. Also, right now the CH-46E has 2 door mounted .50 MGs. The MV-22 has a M240D mounted on the ramp, and an 7.62MM belly gun, which can only be extended while flying and has to be retracted for airplane mode and landing. So the CH-46E is better armed, and I get sick of riding on helicopters and seeing infantry and not being able to put some accurate rounds at it.

And how did this forum get so off topic? I just want some door mounted guns on the Huey, and mentioned that there can be a Marine assualt transport made to replace the utility Huey so they can all be outfitted to gunships, like they are in real life. I mean this is Project Reality, isn't it?

As much as I wouldn't like to use assets in this game that come from other various mods, Clivewill has produced some interesting and well detailed vehicles, like his F-14, but we'll have to see about this MV-22 cause Interiors tend to not be as detailed as we wish.

I really don't see the V-22 being the main transport and supply helicopter that goes straight to the front lines and back like a UH-1 or a H-46. The V-22 looks like its only being used in special operations, like para-jumping out the back ramp. Like said before, the V-22 is way to large to land in most LZs.

The only appropriate large helicopter that can perform such a job required would be a CH-46E, or a CH-53E. As the SeaKnight is being retired, the Super Stallion is the only viable choice. Its the workhorse for the USMC, its been working for a good 20 years, and is used in the role that we intend to use the Osprey as. I don't hate the V-22, but I'm just saying, for the maps we have right now, it just ain't right. But I could see a desert operation with Marine MV-22s. Now someone just needs to make a model and code it.

You can get detailed interiors for aircraft if you know the right people, i.e. me who works on the aircraft and can get pictures of the interior of the MV-22 for the programmers for PR. Some people just don't put any effort into finding sources on vehicles and aircraft which makes me mad when I get games (ArmA II) and they have poorly designed aircraft (the MV-22, which doesn't sound close to the real thing but looks amazing).

Are you talking about the MV-22? If so, then yes. It already mounts an M240D to the ramp, and it was just rated to carry an .50 machine gun on the ramp. Plus, they just finished the 7.62MM mini gun that drops from the belly as a drone gun. Plus, there is a lot of talks about the weapon upgrades for the new model of the MV-22, the C model (right now there are 2: the A which is a non-deployable trainer and fills in the numbers for the non-deployed squadrons, and the B which is rated to be deployed overseas to combat zones).

Well, like I've posted on pages 3, 5, and 7 of this thread, I'm a Marine and an aircraft maintainer. I've worked around them. Look at my post on the other pages and they'll explain more.

The Marines used the MV-22 on combat deployments over the last two years. There are now six Marine medium tiltrotor squadrons, not counting the training and evaluation squadrons. It is what they have.

Vulcan only refers to the 20mm 6 barreled rotary cannon on which the M134/GAU-2/GAU-17/Mk-44 minigun is based.

You don't have to use them if you don't want to.

Yes, it will have door guns. Year and a half old question answered again.
