*Shrug* It's not really getting back to .5s Basrah, but .75s Basrah. Returning most of the suicide cars, bringing back the random spawns, and while it may not be a Cobra or A10, the Blackhawk brings some aerial firepower.

This map needs so badly .756 style spawn points, which had random weapons and resupply capability. Unfortunately, if TeRRoR is correct, it can't be done due to license/permissions issues with server side files :(

well it kinda IS just a conversion from brits to americans. but honestly who wouldnt want bradleys, strykers and the US army back in basrah? it still brings me back a little bit to .5 basrah, which was probably my favorite pr map of all time, but this mod has come so far since then, and now when i think back to .5 basrah it just feels so arcadey. id say basrah v2 is a nice mix of .5 and .8 i really like it.

Just got done playing V2. Its pretty badass, finally engineer got a cool job again and the mp5 fits perfect for the class. It makes clearing/checking rooms for cashes alot better, cause it aint kicking like the m4 would. I also enjoyed the weapon upgrade for the insurgents faction. Old school Basrah meets New school, dangerously fun Gameplay

Big transport helo must stay and adding LB's would hurt the balance too much.
Build FB's instead, so no troop transport is necessary at all. ;-)

This map is fun, sorry DEVS but I like the this Al-Basrah better, not because of the US team on it but because of the return of the random spawns. True this isn't like the overkill USMC back in .5, but I like fighting the strikers and bradleys on here.

Played it last night and I must say it's great compared to the official 0.8 version. It doesn't really matter whether there are Brits or US Army (even tho the US Army makes it feel more "Iraq" looking) what matters is the great gampeplay which reminds me of the one we used to have back in 0.75 days which was IMO the best Basrah gameplay ever (even better than 0.5 AAS with all those assets USMC used to have there).

i like this version of basrah alot, but the engineers have mp5s? come on thats really ridiculous and not at all realistic. if your gonna give those guns to anyone give them to the spec ops. and why do the insurgents have AK101s?

Engineer and crewman got the MP5 as defensive weapon. They are not supposed to make long range engagements.
Additionally, the MP5 on full-auto is a very effective and precise weapon on cqc.

Played it today, but IMO all the caches should be inside or near the city and they should not be destructible by small arms, I'm sick of Rambo's going around taking out caches with their rifles like in the original Basrah and the engineer has C4 anyway.

Caches are much stonger in v2 as in std. basrah.
You need serval clips to blow it with small arms.
Couldn't get is as strong as the .75 caches but it's ok now.
