There are a few problems with attack choppers.
If the view distance is increased all fine with me, but attack choppers will only have more disadvantage - i mean tanks are not blind and neither is the team. So when a attack chopper shows up on the map the enemy team sees a black spot flying around. And if the team is a bit working with each other then is only a matter of seconds before everyone knows it.
But that is not the main problem. The main problem is range / no radar / not able to lock on / stabilization / and maybe cover.
Range: A apache would know what is over there 8km away and it is even being able to take it out at that range.
No radar: Is also a quite big disadvantage especially at larger range like 2000M. I know this because of the community match desertrats where a different kashan was played with a view distance of 2000M, or something around that.
Because you cannot not or almost not see a tank in that distance its way to small and it has ground cover eg same color as the ground. While you are still up in the air looking for enemy's the tank sees that black spot or whatever color it might have and uses it super zoom cannon to take you out. And now you say fly higher. Well that doest help either or not much anyway.. Because of this ^ and the other reasons.
Not able to lock on. Is crucial at some points like ive been saying is it very hard to spot the tanks that are very far away, well if you manage to know where he is from the team or something. And you want to take it out from a large distance you need to use "Laser Guided" which is normally not really a issue but at longer ranges it is. And thats also where stabilization kicks in, the chopper is almost always moving and you need to keep your aim on that tank. Now i know there is stabilization but that is by far not enough. It is just almost not possible to get a real smooth missile right on him which is irl not a problem. So i'd suggest being able to lock on (as they can irl).
And then i am not even talking about AA / AAVs
That part comes now
The duty of AA is very simple look around, see green box, shoot, done. As the missiles are so powerful against choppers which is also fine in a kind of way i mean it is realistic but i think its a bit too much especially if it gots a full range of 2000M or something around that. Leaving the chopper powerless to take it out as its so damn hard to take out anything further away then 1200M. And now the scan wideness was increased doesn't make the duty of an attack chopper easier.
Oh yeah and the hellfire range ingame is only 1200M

:d uh:
