Forget the flamethrower, not worth the effort.
I really like this idea of PLAN Marines, but I also agree with Rhino - it doesnt really need to be a new faction.

Current state: ~1K tris.
Finished state: ~4-7K tris without clutter
Texture estimated to 2048^2 custom pallet, diffuse, bump (with spec).

HZ, do you still want the .max even at this stage? :/

If you can get me the .max file that'd be best. This is not a final evaluation, just to show we are making progress and probably also to receive some tips and advice.

good start Z thou the hull etc is a little low poly.

Make sure you talk to me on xfire or msn soon, the sooner the better really.

Poly count for the grenade is currently 3922 :mrgreen: more than 2x recommended. No worries, we'll get it optimized.

BTW, this is the grenade the PLA Should be using.

yep, I would say you should aim for 3k polys MAX for the 1p model, then 3p optimize it LOADs so that its something like 500 or 1k polys.

by this I mean taking off all the ridges etc, in 3p no one will notice and you can have a separate 3p texture that is small rez thou providing your 1p texture has all the shadows of the ridges etc you shouldn't need to do that.

Sounds great, but is it Realsitic ? As PR was created for more realism, im not sure if this is very realsitic, but you have my moral support guys, good luck !
