If you're coming here an insisting PR move to another engine, then I'm afraid you very much have to prove something pretty spectacular before the DEVs would consider moving it I would say.
'Everything is possible' is obviuosly utter rubbish. Everything is never possible. Source like any engine has its limitations. No one is disputing its an excellent engine for what it does, but it just doesn't seem suited to PR.
The videos you post are really just tricks, how are they actually useful to PR? Rain would make a nice atmospheric effect, granted, but its low on the scale of priorities for what i look for in PR.
I've yet to see maps as large as PRs largest running stable with 64players with a equal or greater level of detail, with the full complement of vehicles of the same standard as in PR/BF2. Thats leaving aside all the effort need to impliment 'extras' in to source that are already present in BF2/PR, such as sqauds, CO, VOIP structure (i.e. Intrasquad, chain of command etc).
As excellent as source it, it would take a lot of effort to make 'source PR' and I doubt whether it would be as good, let alone better than on the BF2 engine. And to be honest, you're in a community that has a healthy hatred for the limitations place on the engine via hardcoding. Its not like everyones a BF2 fan around here

can this topic be closed pls?
it just doesnt make sense do talk about someting which will surely never happen!
The engine is not good for project Reality and i think NO dev will have the idea " yeah, lets put PR completely new in a completly different engine, its fun!" because it isnt fun and it isnt possible .
close pls

Also i forgot the major problem when regarding source mods, at least here on Brazil(wich is my country) the age of the player base.

Still looks like vegitation didn't draw very far in the source mod. No joy for hiding still.

Great, the source is fantastic then. I agree with you that there a lot of possibilities with that engine.
RIght now the developers of this mod are working on a new patch to be released in a few weeks or so probally. So, if you want so much that the mod migrates to source engine, why don't you already start doind something ?
I mean, come here and say

PR engine with Source please!
is very easy. Why dont you help the devs ? Remember, they are just ordinary people who give away most part of their free time do work in this mod for free. Just making demands here wont help or change anything.
IMO, this topic could be closed, it is totally useless.

BF2 Engine its Semi-perfect for PR, i mean, combined arms, tanks, airplanes, big maps, commanders, squads.
No matter what you say, the Dev team will NEVER.. i repeat NEVER, again NEVER change to source.
I agree whit =Romagnolo=, close this topic. please

I didnt say that they should change, but BF2 engine has limitations so it is far from perfect but I guess its good enough, remember it is from 2003.

Well VRV, you started the thread about changing over then decide that you dont need to prove or show anything. So threads closed due to your attitude.
Next time people if you would like to make a suggestion please take the time to show us why. And to those that did show some examples I salute you for actually contributing.
Another thread can be created if you feel you have something to
add and/or show. We the Dev's are always watching and listening but this thread and its creater failed on many levels. And now its become less about an engine change and more about a poster that cant back his comments up.
