Once again;
We arent looking at a total overhaul here, but what kinda things do yo think the map could really benefit from. This is the actual map, DO NOT post suggestions about the following:
DO NOT ask about Vehicles
DO NOT ask about Kits
DO NOT ask about Ammo Caches
DO NOT ask about Factions
DO NOT ask about Flags
DO NOT ask about Spawnpoints
DO NOT ask about Insurgency Game Mode Changes
DO NOT ask about pick up kits
DO NOT ask about Tickets or Ticket Bleed
Basically want suggestions for:
- Colors
- Lighting
- Weather
- Effects
- Static placement
- Terrain
- Roads
- Rivers
-etc

Do something about the highway going north-south through the city and past the mosque, because every time armor rolls up on it, it turns into no man's land and Insurgents have no safe way of crossing. I'll take some time to make another post about what else could be changed (need pics for reference

)
Also bring back basements and perhaps experiment around with some tunnels etc...?

would love a building that the brits have a spawn in, that is a stronghold in the city where the brits have to defend or else they lose it and insurgents get extra cars etc
as i would love to try and hold a building from a mass of insurgents

I STILL SAY SANDSTORMS!!!!!! Lol
Ok one thing i missed, u know how armor camps the hellll out of the mosque on the double lane highway going north to south on the mosque? How about putting a blow up tanker or truck on the road just past the cross roads of the mosque north of it, so the armors and infantry can stop their spawn raping?

More burning cars and smoking buildings maybe, computer games tend to oversimplify and give perfect views on everything too often.
Fallen down lampposts, trees or general debris in the road
I want insurgents to use those water ways for their evil doings. I believe allied forces do have to actively patrol these, as they are a popular way of avoiding road blocks, etc
The small bridges are too low for the boat to pass under.
The western village is isolated (relatively), so the nearby river would be a reasonable way to travel there
Sandstorm type cover in the more barren parts of the map?

The bridges in the south next to the insurgent bace. The one in the middle should be a landbridge, so the insurgents don't "lose" all assets when bridges are destroyed.
Buildings and stuff to the west desert, lots of empty space there.

More basements and tunnels (if possible) would be cool. And maybe just a bigger city, got spoiled cause of Ramiel.

I'd like to see Al-Bas at dawn with some nice bold sunset like in Apolypse Now. I don't have any reasons realting to reality, it's just cool. Imagine some of the scenes we'd see like the armored convo leaving the airport just being able to see the shadows off the vehicles.

I agree with that, you should do something about the waterways.

I still remember on the devfile server with .5 basrah, everyone piling into the bunker at village to hide from the A-10's, the suicide jeeps at the northernmost bridge etc. Getting into the A-10 felt like winning the lottery, you could inflict so much damage. What I found most fun though was trying to kill that one insurgent that was dug in and very close to friendlys and listening to people go 'oh shit, that was close' after you kill the insurgent and miraculously not any team-mates.
Now after I typed that I realize I sound like an old man saying "back in my day!" and my post really didn't give any feedback but it brought back memories

i'd change the city. make it look an work differently. the streets are all perpendicular. spread the city out an extra 50 meters if possible and curve the roads a bit. i think it was iron taxi who made this, or duckhunt. oh man that ones gonna come back to bite me in the ***.
might be cool to see a 4k redux well into the future.

Dude the thread creator is also the creator of the map, which is ducky, yes.
IMO the map is cool as it is, it was my fav. map before Fallujah West but like I said, a Hello Kitty logo would be awesome and your brother would like it too!

Agreed. That was a heckuva-fun time.
... especially as commander, marking targets for the A10 to hit. =)

I would do this.
Have the VCP far to the south on the highway and have the VCP be a requirement for Tanks and the Helo to spawn, much in the same way Korrengal requires Laniyal for the Stryker and LB to spawn.
I would also remove half of the vehicles at the MEC 'main' and place them in various villages around the map.
The New village I added across the bridge would have a gas station and possibly a few other buildings and have the potential to hold a cache.
This makes it possible for the Brits to either go after VCP by driving to it with APCs and Landys or they can just go straight for the caches without having the tank and helo support.

Really liked that idea. make the map go into several layers to peal.

The British don't need any help on this map, they are already overpowered on it and have too many advantages.
1. Get rid of the Challenger 2. Too overpowered and eliminates the ability of the insurgents to hide in destructable buildings. At least with APCs and Schmitars, they can destroy the buildings, but they need to rely on infantry to not get blown up. The Challenger is more of a lone wolf killing machine weapon than a tool for teamwork.
2. Needs more buildings. Map is too small and has become outdated with the 0.8-0.85 changes. If possible, connect the far West Village with the Center Village with buildings and the Muttrah four story enterable buildings and the Muttrah staircase buildings. This will allow for more insurgent chokeholds.
3. Caches shouldn't spawn in fields. Have more caches spawn around the Mosque area so fighting actually happens in the city.
4. An underground tunnel system for the insurgents would be good, but not sure if you are looking for a suggestion such as that.
