Actually I don't know where I found it but I checked pr website and didn't sound appealing the first time so I passed. About a month ago I checked a video in youtube and I felt I should at least give it a try and then I saw what I missed and regret so much the time lost with bunnyhoppers and "creatures" like those in vbf2.

I think i found PR through some banner or random forum, its been 4 years, there were applys for being tester for the mod and BF2 wasnt even released yet. I applied but were not selected. Then after playing BF2 for some months i remembered this mod again and visited the site and found download link. The mod was so cool already even it was just 0.2, so much better than BF2. Back then it was good to get even 5 players online same time on 1 server =)

I have good memories from Oasis, it was very usefull map when you had like 5 players on server =) But thats all what it was good for hehe =)

I think i found PR by searching moddb for bf2 mods because the only map that i ever played was Strike at Karkand, i checked out the mod that tried to re-create desert combat because i used to play that non-stop, even ran a clan on it. Been a long time well over 2 years i dont remember what version i started anymore but my guess would be .3 or .4, i remember the assets being implemented and thats when i really started playing this game all the time because it incorporated a whole lot of strategy and tactics and i loved the fact that almost all players actually listened and worked together. I love strategy games with overtop view like CnC Red Alert 2 and i loved FPS games so naturally this was a perfect fit. Especially being the commander and coordinating all your troops and build locations and one thing i really loved is that all the outdoor maps and some city maps were so big that i never really figured them out for a while and it added a really good realistic aspect.

I was a jet junkie back in nilla, so I finally found out what a mod really was through BF2, and downloaded the "Airmaps" mod flying around like an idiot for some time.

So after enjoying my weeklong spurt of flying around, returned to nilla, got bored searched up more "mods" and found project reality mini mod when I saw the removed crosshair etc so you have to use sights I was sold, and have played it since :P

All started about 5 years ago for me... yes that long hence my registration date here being 2004!

Was working for FPSCentral at the time and did an interview with Requiem about the concept for the mod and got some exclusive renders of the quad bike. This was all before BF2 was even released! Then when I co-founded TotalBF2.com we ranted and raved about it regularly :)

Haha cool, I found out about PR from your website! Good ol .4 (or was it .5)?

I remember specifically it was the version with the VIP escort game mode (it was great :D ), and I played it for a couple months and then didn't play it again until .7 for some reason....glad I started back up though :-P

The first time I heard about was on the Desert Combat Forums (BattleField 1942 mod). It was about a year before the release of BF2, Requiem was recruiting interested people to work on this concept. It's also a reason why all the initial PR devs were DCF members, and a great fan of Tanelorn's mod (Desert Combat Realism mod)

Btw without that mod I wouldn't really be sure if PR would have existed.

Same way I learn about all my mods.

4am.

Everyone on the Duck piss bored.

Someone goes on google and types 'Bf2 mods'

We flip through them all till we found a new one. Played PR once way back. Thought it was interesting. Hopped on the forums. Noted the attitude. Made the general concession that the developers had there head up there asses. Unbending on gameplay elements because it wasn't realistic but not implementing other realistic elements because it made gameplay harder to balance.

Tried it again on .5. Generally the same thought Extraction mode however was a saving grace in its own. Me and a few ducks played the shit out of that.

Played it on .7, Been playing it on and off ever since. Seems like a decent balance. Things we thought would never be added because it wasn't the most realistic but great for gameplay balance were added.

To be honest the true reason I've stuck around was I ignored these forums for a good 3-4 months until I had played the mod. I found another forums and a group of guys that proved PR players weren't all elitist ******** so I've stuck around ever since.

Yes that might offend people but its my honest thoughts. I've said many times I don't discredit any of the work the developers have done. I believe they've done an amazing job coding and model wise but it literally seemed they were running around pantsless for a while there.
