Regarding the kill messages, they only show up when SOME targets are killed. Snipers, Squad Leaders, Commander. If I'm not mistaken, these are the only ones that will promt a message.

Regarding the smoke, Assault Squads, among others, also carry smoke granades irl. They use it to make smoke screens and cross streets under cover, among other things.

Has that been fixed yet? Because if that is still in the game, it would throw everything out of proportion.

The original intention of the Mod is to play it in a Methodical and Tactical sense. There're changes to the Assault and Support classes as well.

I dont know about the map claim you just posted.

Regarding the removal of messages, I hope Eggman can answer to that, as I believe he (if not him, then someone else obviously) is responsible for that decision.

Pence wrote:What was/is the reason bombers have been taken from most maps now?
If I'm not mistaken, the reason is that many people were in the process of using those aircraft as "Point-Making Platforms" and they werent making the gameplay more tactical in any sense. They were also a scene of TKs and stuff.

If that's not within the reason, then I missed it.

EDIT: Please do not double post questions. We will answer the questions the best we can, but we're not as many as you are. Please be patient and help us keep the Thread clean, ok Pence? ;)

EDIT: Ok, Req got my back. Thanks!

1. Egg is not currently online in the forums. I made a shout to see if Req could answer the question.

2. Watch your language. As far as I know, you were banned and I have no clue what you're doing back in here in the first place.

EDIT: Req's busy atm. That answer will have to wait until someone with enough info comes in.

You're taking a 1 month vacation from these forums, who knows, maybe you'll come back with some respect for the effort these Dev's put in. You're not being banned just for this one message, but this post above makes it a nice cherry on your cake.

Ban will be lifted: 05-28-2006, ~11:00 PM

And his sig is ugly, gahh.

Without bomber support, wont people use the fighters as 'strafe-bombers' with the machine gun, i fear only for gameplay in this matter and i ask why did you not just take the bomb ability from the pilot and leave the gunner with the guided munitions?

I like the way he asks you guys to remove a feature from a product that's not even out yet because he doesn't like it...

You have to remember, this is still a mini-mod and if the devs choose to add a new feature in a new build, it's our job to respect it and test it, not challenge it before we've even seen it in action. Obviously the devs can't please everyone, but that doesn't mean you have to insult all their hard work. I welcome all the planned changes and I'll start taking first impressions when I actually see everything in action, rather than flame the product before it's even hit the shelves.

And to keep this post relevant: are there going to be any adjustments to the accuracy of the M24 in this build?

wow, people, getting a little "hot". Pence that was an inappropriate comment to make.

How will the night vision work, will it be similar to the SF one or more advanced?
I presume there are no headlights or torches, but personaly it would be alot cooler if they could be included - is it possible wiht out massive lag?
Will the civilian pick up also be similar to the one in SF and how common will they be on maps? Personally i would like to see atleast 6 on big maps.

Excuse me?
Just to keep this from disrupting the topic, could you PM me as to which and why my comment was inappropriate.

Hey guys Egg has been working very hard on this update, seems he has some experience points as well. Good job to the DEVs its alot of hard work. They have spent hundreds of hours making this thing happen. All the additions sound pretty good.

Everyone is just concerned because we want this build to be good, not one down the road later on when who knows how many people will still be playing the game. Not to be pessimistic or anything, but unless this version is good, which it should be, people will continue to leave the servers and when BF2142 comes out, they may transfer over to that one.

Who knows, but we do need this version to be as complete as it can for now since the PR community really needs more people and support to get the servers full again and keep the mod alive.

I believe that strafing does require more skill from the pilot instead of dropping a lot of bombs and getting points thanks to the law of averages (some1 is bound to get killed lol)

Regarding the 2nd question about taking the bombs from the aircraft and leaving the co-pilot do the guided munitions bombing, I don't think I know enough to completely answer your question, but I think I have an Idea.

I think it was done so that the bombing runs were not as overpowered and to try and hit a happy medium between fighter pilots and bomber pilots. A fighter pilot will be happy in air to air combat, and the bomber pilot will be happy (i hope) with his/her limited bombing ability, which will require more skill as well.

That's what I believe though

Thanks a lot for your support :)

Yes, M-24 accuracy has been increased, as well as damage. This one's intended for big open maps like GoOman and the SPR is intended for closer tasks like S@K, Mashtuur, etc..

Seems logical, the bomber would appear to have limited chances (options) to bomb targets but potentially the payoff would be greater than the pilot simply strafing with the cannons.

So are nuclear bombs, but it's not in PR. You'll survive.
