The Mi-24 Hind Family of aircraft decend into three:

Hind-A - A single machine-gun is in the nose wile the wing stubs stores either Rocket pods, chemical weapons or air-dispersed mines.
Hind-F - The latest 'Hind' varient. It replaces the old AT-2's with AT-6 'Spiral' anti-tank laser guided missile and has a fixed 30mm cannon.
Hind-D - I think is the most common, armed with a four-barrelled 12.7mm nose gun and 'Swatter' AT-2 missiles.

All have two flight crew and a cabin for eight troops.

I again agree, this whole more than 6 people is vital to the PR development i think.

As much as I hate riding in the big choppers, I agree. Moving just 1 squad at a time is good, but moving 2 squads or more is better. Think about it, When the enemy see's a big transport chopper overhead, they don't know if it has 3 squads in it or just 1 squad. Or just a pilot as a decoy. The enemy's objective is now to take down that chopper. Because of the troop threat it poses. Just a thought.

anywhere I've ever looked, ppl try to take down all choppers they see, no matter what.. I don't think they give a rats *** about how many squads could possibly be inside, just a thought..

I for one know though that if I saw a Blackhawk and a Merlin coming at me I would try and take the Merlin (EH-101) as that can store up to (IIRC) 24 fully loaded soldiers or 1 LCV and 10 combat troops, plus one pilot, navigator and two crewmen to either serve as observers or to man the 2x GPMG's in the cabin doors.
On the other hand the Blackhawk can only (to be used lightly) carry 15 fully loaded troops.
Eddie Baker, please tell me if I'm right or not.

I also believe the Gazelle is primarily and commonly used as an Observation helicopter, only in special operations would it be equipped with a browning .50 cal.

The British version of the Chinook (HC.2) can carry up to 54 fully loaded troops (overkill for PR) or up to 10 tonnes/ 28,000lb of weight.

my info just ain't what it used to be :(

Indeed, there is really not that many people that manage to dig out a thread like this

also there is a MV-22, there is just no use for it in PR atm

This is the exact same thread, created twice, and both bumped within two days of each other, 4 years late.

Epic Necro. Really don't Necro these things unless you have something worth while to add. Some of those choppers in the poll are now in PR.
