That is not a copyright violation if you do not claim it to be yours. But at the same time the sentence would had to be something original, at least according to European copyright laws. Just one sentence isn't enough unless it can be seen as some kind of poetry or such.

"I just humped your utterly insane text above, which technically is a violation of copyright at the most basic level."

Now this could be violating your moral rights even and especially if I would mention you as the origin. But do forgive me, this was just an example.

And I do disagree with your interpretation of EULA, but let's just leave it there.

Yes, this has been reaching silliness quite far in this context.
Selling copyrighted works, even while attributing them to the author but without permission is a violation of copyright. Bootleg versions of movies, fake copies of Harry Potter and their like are passed off as the original and are a violation without being attributed to another. My copying your text above and posting it in my post without asking permission is the most basic version of violation of copyright: unauthorized copying. There are situations such as quoting a portion for review or scholarly use (the basis of personal use) but those are not for distribution.

Since your modification of your post is clearly a parody I would not be able to sue you for modifying and redistributing it :)

I don't see how you can disagree with the plain text of the EULA, it's clear as day.

And when it comes down to it copyright is a civil matter in the US, where what matters is monetary impact, and the only thing that can result is either an injunction to stop distribution or a monetary finding by the court. I support the concept of a limited copyright for commercial distribution, don't get me wrong. I just don't think every twitter alert and family photo really needs copyright protection, just non-legally enforced respect fort the author.

How about we stop the bickering about copyrights and just talk about the map?

Space MIGHT give the map to the DEV's when it is finished but thats entirely up to him. Considering he's on holidays you won't be getting his opinion on this matter for a while, so just let it go.

Yes, please just drop the copyright ****....and talk about the map. I'm not even reading your wall(s) of text snoogums because your just continuously dragging on an argument that seems more like your attempting to prove how much you know about laws and practice than the actual topic at hand, and I am pretty sure I'm not the only one that thinks this...

Anyway, it is a great map and hopefully one day we will all be able to play it :-P

Reading text that uses correct grammar and spelling with paragraph breaks is not a wall of text. Some people enjoy actually backing up their opinions instead of just going "lolz YOUR WRONG!" and a good explanation can take a few words. I have a strong opinion on copyright so I tend to give explanations instead of one liners, as someone else commented on the topic I started responding. If you aren't reading it as you note above, it shouldn't bother you.

... for some reason i havent heard of this map before now.
It contains the most realistically portrayed landscape i've seen with BF2, like the youtube comments say it reminds of ArmA. At least that's what i got out of that short videoclip. While most other PR maps really over-do variation in terrain, this looked beautifully balanced!
Please space, get to that point where you're satisfied - and hand it to the world.

This makes me long for the good old days. When people working on maps were locked up until the map was finished.
It looks awesome!
