I've now finally patched BF2 upto 1.3 and patched PRMM to 0.31 but can't appear to join any server without CTD. I've got the box checked for same rev and can play single player fine but I keep getting CTD at the verifying client data stage. I've had a few goes on vanilla and that works fine. I've re-installed PRMM without success too and I'm downlading the patch from another source to make sure the one I grabbed off the torrent isn't corrupt.
Failing that I'm at a loss as to whats wrong :confused:

any ideas? I need my PRMM fix

Are you 100% the servers you are trying are updated yet?

You can play PRMM 0.314 singleplayer you say, did you run the spfix.bat file?
If you did, did you follow the steps outlined in the readme to be able to play ONLINE again?

Also, when you play SP, can you cap flags? There are at least 2 of us who can't get SP to play right.

the spfix.bat is a known issue at present. An updated file will be made available asap.It was decided that because PRMM is a team oriented MP based mod, we'd give you guys the patch now to avoid waiting.

However, we know that a few use PR in singleplayer, so we are working on it :)

If you are having issues running the game:

Install BF2
Install full 1.3 patch
Install PRMM 0.3
Install PRMM 0.314 Patch

I am glad at patch is out but all the changes like the delayed supply drop will not meet a warm reception from many players. This patch took to long and I had a hard time to persuade many of the guys in our team that refused to play BF2 to give it a try. Now with this patch we have spent time to get used to and accept, things are turned up side down. This is a game and we play 30 min map or longer. To wait for 4 minutes to get supplies is an idea I am very sceptical to. Where is the change on things that is needed, for instance like the ridiculous sniper weapons in this mod?
Is the time that made this patch so delayed well spent is my question.

I was unable to cap any flags in SP but I didn't run the spifx.bat file and I'll look at the readme file now.

So right now SP is out of our hands, again ;)

Also, for MultiPlayer do NOT run the spfix.bat file, obviously, but I just wanted to make that clear.

Duke, we could have spent ages re-jigging a lot of other things within the mod's gameplay span, but we didn't, siomply because we knew we had to get the patch out asap :) You contradict yourself slightly by asking why X, Y or Z wasn't done too, then ask why the patch took so long lol :) We never 'agreed' to anything being changed, so you cannot expect things to be done right away. We did everything possible to get a quality patch to the community asap. We regret we couldn't sooner, but there's a lot of things to cover in quality control even after the coders and mappers have done their end. Regarding supply drops, I'm pretty sure they don't take 4 minutes to arrive after they are requested.

We are now starting to work on PRMM 0.4. Expect some big changes there :D

Hawk, the reason SP won't work in the first place is that you have to run the spfix.bat file. Seeing as that file is borked, you can't really do anything with it until we get you guys an updated file.

All I can say is IF the spfix.bat file worked, then you would still have to follow the instructions in the readme to get it to work. Then revert those changes to play MP by also following the intructions in the readme. That's why it's there guys :)

I noticed that the Gloryhounds server was 0.31 and was able to join that so it seems I must have been trying to connect to servers that aren't the correct revision even though I checked the box asking for same. Hopefully I should be OK now unless it's an intermitant issue.

Good to hear Hawklord. Any other issues you may encounter is probably vbf2 fnorking up as per usual. ;)

One thing to note guys is that 0.3 servers that are patched to vBF2 1.3 WILL show on your server browser. However, if these servers are not patched with PRMM 0.314, you'll get dumped to your desktop. A good bet is to keep an eye out in the server forums and watch for updates as to which servers are fully patched :) I know Gloryhoundz is, and the SOMETHING of War server.

Hopefully server admins will make us aware of which ones are patched :)

Maybe if server admins could add the rev to their server description it's make it easier to select compatable servers :wink:
