If you'd read the thread, you'd know that it's ammo crates.
duckhunt;1217125']heres to 2010, where PR will carry on advancing in all respects, including more detailed environments, this is just the tip of the iceburg of work from PR mappers. ;)
Now I'm anticipating a 2x2km urban Iraq map with Fallujah's detail.

Ramiel is quite close to what I have in mind. It just needs more enter-able buildings, compounds and perhaps sidewalks.

Karbala and Basrah are good efforts respectably but I dislike their layout, due to the stark contrast of open desert and concentrated vanilla BF2 apartment buildings.

Muttrah's scale and number of enter-able apartment blocks is impressive but lacks street detail.

It's actually a good thing for the insurgents.

The tank cannon has a far slower rate of fire and less ammunition, not ideal for engaging multiple infantry and light vehicles.

If it runs over a mine/IED or is hit by a suicide car it is in just as much trouble as an IFV.

It also results in a reduction of armored transport for the Marines.

While it may be more psychologically intimidating than a IFV, it's less useful in urban combat against infantry and cars because it's cannon has a much slower rate of fire. I don't believe it is significantly more resilient against explosive threats either.
yeah, auto cannons FTW
i still dream to see BMP-3 in insurgency one day

Pretty Beast! Wish where was 1 less APC with the new Abrams, but we will have to see how it plays out before judging though.

I simply love this new layout, Fallujah is one of my favourite maps.

I'd not be so afraid of the tank, actually the supply cars for insurgents are possibly a bigger buff for the insurgents than the tank is for USMC. We will likely see RPGs far away from the caches and minefields everywhere. Hopefully it will encourage people to organize ambushes.

I think the new curbs you dont have to jump over all the time will be a bigger improvement than the M1A1 or the insurgent ammo pickup.
Will make moving around the city so much better! :-D

Because of concern it might be unbalanced or that you'd prefer less crewmen and more infantry?

It could go either way really. It could either be a detriment to the US if they still lose APCs like crazy and hurt their small 200 tickets on that map, or it could be a detriment to the Insurgents if it is way too much armor and that they aren't able to take them out. I'm leaning towards it being overpowered for the US though if their main isn't so easily attackable anymore. But I guess we will see.

I'm betting it will be more of a detriment to the US based on:
- Tanks being less appropriate for urban combat against insurgents and their fast vehicles, due to rate of fire and ammunition capacity.
- Replacement of an IFV with a tank meaning a reduction of their armored transport capacity.
- Tanks not being significantly stronger than IFVs in PR, resulting in a similar frequency of asset loss.

Read the original post and look at the last two pictures, then you should be able to answer that question yourself. ;)

Probably the exact same chances as before considering it is replacing a Bradley.
