If it helps *snickers* the dev's never look at polls anyways. The majority never decide what we do.
Do you read what you type?-.-Maverick-.- wrote: We are getting off topic here, the point is that the new rally system is better, maybe it has some flaws but it delivers a much more realistic and enjoyable experience. If you say things like "I HATE IT NOW CUS WHEN I DIE I HAVE TO RESPAWN FURTHER AWAY!!" I have one tip for you... DONT DIE!! Easy as that. Stay stealthy, quick and tactical and you should be fine and if you kill an enemy squad you can be that more happy because you know they are dead and they wont pop out in 20 seconds.
did i say spawning at FOBs where realistic? no.. even tho we are getting offtopic but all forms of spawning are unrealistic, and not spawning is unrealistic as since when are all large scale battles 32v32 ?, tickets = people = larger scale battle.00SoldierofFortune00 wrote: Ummm, and spawning from FOBs is realistic? Theres a lot in this game that isn't realistic. As far as I am concerned, RPs are no more realistic than FOBs and 1 life before respawning at main. Its the gameplay factor which is important in those cases.

Directly related to the erosion of the squad unity caused by the removal of the rally points. There is little intensity of squad coordination now. When I used to SL I would always enforce a rule of 'everyone within 50-100m at all times' so that we can mutually support each other, target bearings were generally relevant for all members and the medic would be not be far from any casualty. If we have deaths we wait for them to come back off the RP. Now more often than not the squad is permanently broken into 2's and 3's, unless you are sitting right on a FOB. The main reason to join a squad now is to get a special weapon.PLODDITHANLEY wrote:At the moment there seems to be too many VOIP mutes and mumble mutes.
disagree, the new change has put emphasis on squad sticking together. regrouping fully before moving out, more emphasis on medic and falling back. all good gameplay traits. i rarely have my squad split up, if i do i start kicking.Fuhrious wrote:Directly related to the erosion of the squad unity caused by the removal of the rally points. Rally points really are rally points now.
Your squad came under heavy fire and your medic is down with no chance to get his kit; you (the officer) and one remaining squad member decide that pushing on is a deathwish, and you fall back quickly to the nearest safe location.
You have one last chance to bring your squad's efforts back from the brink; you place your rally point and tell your squad to spawn in.
This is it, your one last chance.
No it hasn't. Even if you have the most intense, precise squad work ever (as was possible with last patch), SOMEONE is going to die. Its not a question of, its a question of when. Even if you have a medic, its going to happen as long as this is an FPS and you have to kill each other. The difference is now, that the lone guy who may die or half the squad who may die have to now catch up with the other part of the squad who maybe 500-1000M away (Iron Eagle anyone?) cus they have to spawn at a FOB.gazzthompson wrote:disagree, the new change has put emphasis on squad sticking together. regrouping fully before moving out, more emphasis on medic and falling back. all good gameplay traits. i rarely have my squad split up, if i do i start kicking.

What can i say, w'll just have to agree to disagree as i dont have the same problems as you, and it would seem the majority of the people who have voted so far also dont have same problems either.00SoldierofFortune00 wrote:No it hasn't. stop putting words in my .. text... Have i stated once that people wont die? people do... alot. thats why we have the RP, fall back and set it.
You guys keep making blanket statements like "well, don't die" or "well, stick together" when you forget this is an FPS and in FPS's, you try to shoot the other guy and kill him. Someone is going to die, and unless you are the Terminator, its going to be you eventually too.
Yep, and how many times do people honestly fall back when they are in the middle of a battle and being flanked or surrounded? This isn't WW1, you can't always simply fall back behind your perfectly straight line. I mean, I do it when I can, but the problem is it simply isn't possible in 90% of the battles, especially the urban ones where you have to penetrate deep into a city. And reloading the RPs is pretty much comical unless the battle just happens to be next to a FOB. The guy who dies permanently (after the RP has been used) is just better off walking because he will regroup with the squad before they even reload the RP.
if my squad takes 3-4 deaths, i tell em to fall back to a position to hold whistle the dead make it to the front via walking, should have FB 500m< if not ur team is failing and ur being punished for it, or helo/apc
well as Gaza is a 1km map, you can access about 40% without a FB anyways.00SoldierofFortune00 wrote: Yep, so everyone on the team should be punished for one guy's actions right? On Gaza, there is literally one Logistic truck, so the lives of the team are literally in one or two guy's hands. You think that is fair?
lol you two. As they say there are lies, utter lies and statistics. You both seem to be skewing. The essential breakdown would really be do you prefer the new or the old system. The results would be 60-35. Gazz you have loaded this poll by splitting the negative into two categories which makes the affirmative seem more significant than it is (you are stealing tricks from John Howard now that he used to defeat the Australian Republican movement). You have also framed the poll as requiring a negative answer to state a preference for the previous system rather than keeping the choices neutral. Not such a big deal but not surprising given your personal bias.gazzthompson wrote:well as Gaza is a 1km map, you can access about 40% without a FB anyways.
as for poll, if you include "like it but like previous better" with "hate it" which i wouldn't anyways, it would still be 60-30. the question is do you like the new RP system, of which 80% of the voters do.

As I have said previously I would also suggest this could poll could be taken more seriously if there was a breakdown on preferred mode. As a dedicated insurgency mode player I am astonished at how other players of this mode could be happy with the new system. In game I can find very few people who are pleased with it when asking squaddies on voip (not "scientific" like your polling but worthy anecdotal evidence imo). I gather from your posts you play a lot of insurgency so you obviously have a higher tolerance for walking and broken squads than most. In 0.87 one could regularly look at the map and see usually 2 or 3 of the "good squads" cruising around on the map as a single organism. Now it is rare to see this at all beyond the start of game and occasionally a squad that has the (mis)fortune to all die at the same encounter in which case they will respawn together and stay united momentarily. The only reason the bluefor even win maps now is because the cache bar has been so dramatically lowered and many maps they get tanks(s) just to help seal the deal. Surely you cannot argue that Korengal has been ruined by the new system as it's inhospitable terrain now makes the bluefor zerg fob impossible, and no lowering of the cache bar can solve that.
