Sorry I don't have the time to research it and provide sources right now, but I believe many of the forces conducting front-line invasion type operations against a roughly symmetrical force in PR would be packing IR blocking smoke into their vehicles' launchers prior to the engagement.
That's correct. Very mission specific though. I believe that IR blocking smoke lasts for a very short amount of time in comparison to regular smoke.

Oh my! Reading about how much more effective choppers get scares me A LOT! They can even FBR now and are almost impossible to take out that way... And they are getting even easier. has anything been done to AA weapons? I guess the same for tanks and IR stuff. Very curious how the infantry grunts or non IR teams will find ways to win from those. Makes for interesting stuff!

Ya choppers are gonna be very scary now, I hope the shoulder fired missiles got bumped up a notch, was pretty pathetic to never get a kill shot on the chinook when they are known to give lethal blows often. No explosion, but definitely some fatal failure on the targeted aircraft.

Can you turn TI off in said vehicles, or is it a permanent effect?

It's activated/deactivated by the "T" rosse.

When in a vehicle position that has thermal sights, hold "T" and the centre rosse option will be "Day / Thermal". You can see this being done in the trailer when the Havoc Gunner switches to thermal.

Only exception is the CO's UAV, which has weapon slot 1: Day and weapon slot 2: Thermal.

That's great. I must not have been paying much attention to the trailer then.

If I remember correctly, that video is PR ported to BF2142 as a concept. I don't think its currently possible to do that in BF2... :/

Recon chopper will be scary since they can see everything and report it. So if there is some guys hiding around cache they will be found.

Implemented from combined arms. Having used it on CA was quite handy. Having tried i must say it was much easier to spot targets.

The thermals that will be in pr are very different from the ones in ca. The ones in ca were just a visual effect (a color inversion of sorts) to make it look like thermals. In pr the thermals actually highlight things that are hot.
