Excellent idea guys. Have adopted the # :)

It's been a long, long time since I've had a tag

I'm sure I remember the very same initiative being undertaken a while ago in the past. I believe teamwork-orientated players that wished to be immediately identified as such incorporated the prefix [PR] before their name.
Hopefully, this will be a healthy revival.

I hope so too.

This tag does not entitle you to any function whatsoever, neither does it mean that you are better than any others. So be polite and welcome anyone else that wants to play with you, tag or not.

Greek keyboard maybe?

Go to My Documents > Battlefield 2 > Profiles > Global.txt and simply put it in the prefix field.

you have to edit your profile within the file thats in your documents. BF2 won't let you put certain characters in the tag box while in game, but editing the files allows you.

Judging by the page count, there seems to be a decent following already. A great idea, GoGaupsy. Now it'll be easy to tell which team is stacked with pros on TG!

#! fo' life.

Just fixing it, buddy. I just did the thread. That wasn't even my idea.

Point is, no one should be given props, IMO.

I hope this thing gets going, for the sake of teamwork and good, immersive fun. If I'll see some people with these tags in the servers I play in (PRTA, TG, UKWF and some other) I think it will be enough for me to change my nickname.

EDIT: Screewit. Imma gonna change my nick now!

EDIT2: Need help. After I edited the GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "" by inserting a # between "" my login fails to find PR.exe (restart didn't help). Maybe it has something to do with the fact that PR/BF2 files are on another partition? But maybe not.

I like this. I will definitely use this when I go pubbing without my clan.

Try adding the # on the log-in prefix screen instead of on the files. See if that works.

BTW I played on UKWF today, maybe you saw me? Karbala?

True, goguapsy isn't very important. :P
But I agree with that last statement; it should be a feature already built in to PR. :D

I don't know how that edit could have caused this but this is what your file contents should look like
GlobalSettings.setDefaultUser "0001"
GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "#"

I added mine in game as well - saw a couple others on the 'H' Hardcore servers. Didn't get a chance to play with other numbersymbols, but was nice to see them out there =)
