i dont know the distance, but it was nearly 600 with the medic Enfield (iron sights)

I rarely do long distance sniping mostly because it isn't really efficient use of ones time or especially fun. But I wasted one or two Canadian infantry from approx 500 meters on Archer. The thing is, I used the Taliban medic rifle.

Corporal Rob Furlong killed a Taliban soldier at 2430M in March 2002 as part of a five man sniper team participating in the mainly american Operation Anaconda. he held the longest confirmed kill record until 2009 when a British sniper beat his record by just 45 meters.
Rob Furlong beat the record set by teammate Mcpl. Arron Perry just days before that had also broken the record set by Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock during the Vietnam war.

both arron perry and Rob Furlong were using the C15 LRSW (CF designation) McMillan Brothers Tac-50 .50 Caliber BMG sniper rifles.

Got over 1000 points for one kill a couple of months ago. Sniped an enemy (probably officer) from about 900 meters. No proof. I might be lying.

This is the most epic video of the thread, also very funny.

985 metres+ on Kashan Desert, down hill, headshot on stationary target (in previous patch), verified by marker and spotter. Follow up shot at greater distance, actually outside of view distance and only partially visible, mostly due to 'white feet' graphical glitch. Target was running away but in a straight line. Could only verify kill by lack of movement till we got someone to drive out there and check.

890 point, sub 500 yard kill on enemy CO in Command truck whilst driving, he hit a rock or something sort of stalling the trucks momentum, took a chance and got very, very lucky lol. Had only just joined the server and went in at 2nd on the scoreboard, time played 2 minutes, 890 points, 1 kill lol. All with long guns. (All in previous patch)

I once..or no,couple of times really. Sniped a bunch of guys from IDF main in Asad Khal to bunkers in Kashan. didn't record i though.

Ok, next time i'll record my shots ( 800m farthest kill, no proof but I will have some next time =D ).

i shot someone with the taliban medic rifle on op archer. i was just chillin at the base of the castle when i saw some us infantry runnin across the bridge. so i shot once just for the hell of it an hit one. wasnt that far though. mabye like 200m. felt awesome though. i love the taliban medic rifle. its balls on accurate. and you feel like the taliban master when you kill someone with it.

sniped a guy from the hardcore insurgency server to the ukwf server, thats more than 4000km if im correct

Made a shot from castle to VCP on archer. he was moving so I was arguing with my self "WHERE SHOULD I AIM?" and I just put the cross hair in front of him and it killed him.

I remember running around the outskirts of Karbala City, North-Eastern part of town. From where I was I could see a friendly sniper team far out to the north. A gunner and spotter set up so far away I could only see them if I turned my head and used the extended "peripheral vision". (You all know about it, PR's Line of Sight 'cone'.) If I looked straight at them I could not even see their countours.

So I kept on walking. Eastbound. Then I was shot and killed instantly, by that sniper team. I was killed while moving and while outside of their view distance. The gunner must have turned his head to tilt the view distance to extend it, like I did to locate them, in order to locate my position. After locating my position he must have manually and in a matter of seconds calculated where I was going to be if i maintained speed and direction, at the end of the 8 second it takes to fully steady the sniper rifle + the time it will take for him to get his gun zoomed and pointing in my direction. Add to that the ping and the BF2 hitbox that is dragged behind the visual player (not that it matterd, since he couldn't even see his target) And so, with nothing but fog ahead of him he fired one very small but powerful round that hit me hard enough to kill me at once.

One of the most impressive things I have ever seen anyone do in PR, inspite of the fact that it was a teamkill.

The lack of videos, and the number of descriptive text posts concerns me.

my longest was from b13kp8 on muttrah to the single tower on the right of mec main which was 632m on the GTLDs.

until last week when on op archer while in the fortress sniped a guy building a SPG at 720m on the gtld

I once was in archer...on top of the castle. I see a techie driving down the main road so my instinct tells me to spin around really fast and quick scope. Instinct won.

I wish I recorded it with Fraps, but my longest was at the view distance limit on Iron Eagle which is something like 1.5Km
